January 31, 2014 - Now available to own, 1 celebrates Formula 1, recalling both the heroes and the fatalities of European auto racing in the 1960s and '70s.

In theaters today after an awards-qualifying run is Labor Day. Jason Reitman (Juno, Up in the Air) directs this romantic drama, which he adapts from Joyce Maynard's book.
Set in 1987 New England, it tells the story of a divorced mother (Kate Winslet), her 13-year-old son (Gattlin Griffith), and the stranger (Josh Brolin) in need of a safe place to lay low. January 30, 2014 - Big Sur adapts the 1962 Jack Kerouac novel of the same name. Jean-Marc Barr plays the iconic Beat Generation author, who approaches forty in a state of delirium, fueled by alcohol, friendship, and introspection. Co-starring Josh Lucas, Kate Bosworth, and Radha Mitchell, this drama dapted and directed by Michael Polish is now on DVD with its trailer. Full review.

January 29, 2014 - Today's new review covers The Fifth Estate, a drama that tells the story of founding of the controversial site WikiLeaks by Julian Assange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Daniel Berg (Daniel Brόhl). From director Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) and screenwriter Josh Singer ("Fringe", "The West Wing"), this DreamWorks biopic had less impact at the box office than every film released to as many theaters last year. Now available, Buena Vista's Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD combo pack includes featurettes on the visual effects and Carter Burwell's score plus the film's trailer and TV spots. January 28, 2014 - Seven weeks after premiering on A&E, History and Lifetime, the 2013 miniseries Bonnie & Clyde hits DVD and Blu-ray today from Sony. Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild, Milk) and Holliday Grainger (Jane Eyre, "The Borgias") fill the title roles as the 1930s bank-robbing couple. William Hurt, Holly Hunter, Sarah Hyland, and Elizabeth Reaser also feature in this four-hour broadcast, which is joined by four making-of featurettes and Digital HD UltraViolet in Sony's two-disc Blu-ray release. January 27, 2014 - 2013's least likely Academy Award nominee hits home video tomorrow and we've got a review. Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa spins off a Johnny Knoxville character from the popular stunt-based comedy franchise into his own movie. Hidden cameras capture reactions to the outrageous antics of 86-year-old Irving Zisman and his 8-year-old grandson Billy (Jackson Nicoll). Her's Spike Jonze numbers among the writers and producers of this Best Makeup and Hairstyling Oscar nominee. Paramount's Blu-ray presents the film in theatrical and extended cuts plus an hour of bonus features in a combo pack that also includes a DVD and Digital HD. Full review.

Academy Award winners Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Kline team up to play lifelong friends in the comedy Last Vegas. From writer Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love., Tangled) and director Jon Turteltaub (Cool Runnings, National Treasure) comes this story reuniting a gang of Brooklynites for an unforgettable bachelor party weekend in Sin City. Our newest DVD review covers Garibaldi's Lovers, a 2012 comedy from writer-director Silvio Soldini (Bread and Tulips). It tells the story of an assortment of Italians -- including a broke artist, a widower, and his two teenaged children -- whose lives are connected in unusual ways, while Rome's statues of Garibaldi and others narrate in voiceover. January 24, 2014 - Lionsgate has announced that 2013's domestic box office king, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will set retail shelves ablaze on Friday, March 7th with its DVD and Blu-ray combo pack releases. The second installment in the popular fantasy franchise will be joined by deleted scenes, an audio commentary by director Francis Lawrence and producer Nina Jacobson, UltraViolet, a sneak peek of the upcoming movie Divergent, and, exclusively on Blu-ray, the 9-part feature length documentary "Surviving the Game: Making Catching Fire." The independent comedy A.C.O.D. stars Adam Scott ("Parks and Recreation") as a restaurant owner belonging to a group of A.C.O.D. (Adult Children of Divorce) whose childhood experiences were written about in a bestselling book. In advance of his younger brother's wedding, he reunites his parents (Richard Jenkins and Catherine O'Hara) in an unexpected way. Also featuring Jane Lynch, Amy Poehler, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Clark Duke, and Jessica Alba, this fall limited theatrical release is now on Blu-ray from Paramount in a disc that includes screening Q & A cast & crew comments, Poehler outtakes, cast PSAs, and digital copy and UltraViolet options. January 23, 2014 - This week, Captain Phillips became the first of 2013's Academy Award nominees for Best Picture to hit home video. Paul Greengrass (United 93, The Bourne Ultimatum) directs this docudrama about the 2009 hijacking of a U.S. cargo ship by Somali pirates, which stars Tom Hanks in the titular role and Supporting Actor nominee Barkhad Abdi as the pirates' captain. January 22, 2014 - Actress Lake Bell ("Childrens Hospital", What Happens in Vegas) makes her writing and directing debut in the independent comedy In a World.... Bell stars as Carol Solomon, a Hollywood vocal coach who breaks into the male-dominated business of movie trailer voiceovers. Co-starring Fred Melamed, Demetri Martin, Ken Marino, Rob Corddry, and Michaela Watkins, this Sundance-winning, National Board of Review-recognized Independent Spirit-nominated film is now available to own from Sony, joined by deleted scenes, a gag reel, an audio commentary, and cast promos. January 21, 2014 - Paramount has scheduled a February 25th Blu-ray combo and DVD release for Nebraska, the road trip dramedy that is nominated for six Academy Awards: Best Picture, Director, Actor, Supporting Actress, Original Screenplay, and Cinematography. Starring Bruce Dern, Will Forte, and June Squibb as a family on the road to the father's old town, this film directed by Alexander Payne (Sideways, The Descendants) will be joined by a six-part making-of documentary exclusively on Blu-ray. Triggerfish, South Africa's first feature animation studio, follows up their debut Adventures in Zambezia with Khumba. It tells the story of a young zebra missing stripes on half of his body who goes out in search of a magical watering hole he hopes will complete him and end the drought plaguing his community.
With a voice cast including Jake T. Austin, Liam Neeson, AnnaSophia Robb, Laurence Fishburne, and Catherine Tate, it's now available at Walmart in a two-disc Blu-ray 3D/2D + DVD combo pack with a trailer and four making-of featurettes. Don't miss our review.

January 20, 2014 - The offbeat talk show "Comedy Bang! Bang!" hits DVD tomorrow. Anchor Bay's two-disc The Complete First Season includes the first ten episodes of this IFC series adapted from Scott Aukerman's popular podcast of the same name. Aukerman interviews guests like Zach Galifiankis, Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Michael Cera, Jon Hamm and Seth Rogen. Each episode is joined by audio commentary and the second disc holds over an hour of video extras. Full review.

January 19, 2014 - The action thriller Freezer stars Dylan McDermott as a New York mechanic who finds himself suddenly locked in a meat locker by Russian mobsters accusing him of stealing $8 million. Directed by Hard Rain's Mikael Salomon and co-starring Yuliya Snigir (A Good Day to Die Hard) and Twilight's Peter Facinelli, this new movie hits shelves on Tuesday in a Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD UltraViolet combo pack from Anchor Bay Entertainment joined by cast and crew interviews and a making-of featurette. January 17, 2014 - Sticking to the timing they used on last year's Best Picture winner Argo, Warner Bros. has announced a February 25th home video release for the acclaimed space drama Gravity five days before the Oscar ceremony. Nominated for ten Academy Awards including Picture, Director, and Actress, this decorated blockbuster stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as astronauts stranded in space when disaster strikes a routine mission. Warner will release the film as a Two-Disc Special Edition DVD as well as Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D combos, each equipped with Digital HD UltraViolet. Extras will include the companion short Aningaaq, the Ed Harris-narrated documentary "Collision Point: The Race to Clean Up Space", a silent space version of the film, and more. January 16, 2014 - Our newest review covers next week's DVD release of Blue Jasmine. Nominated for Oscars in Lead Actress, Supporting Actress, and Original Screenplay, Woody Allen's latest drama tells the nonlinear story of a New York socialite (Cate Blanchett) who loses her financial comfort and has to crash at the San Francisco apartment of her sister (Sally Hawkins) until she can get back on her feet. January 13, 2014 - Lee Daniels' The Butler tells the sort of true story of a black man who served Presidents in the White House for thirty years. Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker fills the title role, while Oprah Winfrey plays his wife and David Oyelowo is their civil rights activist son in this historical drama from the director of Precious and the writer of HBO's Game Change. January 11, 2014 - The Oscar-shortlisted documentary Twenty Feet from Stardom celebrates backup singers, from the rare ones to experience solo success like Darlene Love and Lisa Fischer to the many more anonymous ones who tried to rising hopeful Judith Hill. After a potent run in limited release, this Morgan Neville-directed film hits Blu-ray and DVD on Tuesday from The Weinstein Company and Anchor Bay, joined by a half-hour of deleted scenes, a half-hour New York Times Q & A session with Love, Fischer, Neville, and Merry Clayton, and an unused segment. January 10, 2014 - Disney has announced a March 18th Blu-ray and DVD release of Frozen. The smash hit musical adventure, the animation studio's biggest earner since The Lion King, will be available in a single-disc DVD and a two-disc Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD Digital Copy combo pack. If you can't wait that long, the film will also be available in Digital HD form on February 25th. DVD extras will include "Let It Go" music videos by Demi Lovato, Martina Stroessel, and Marsha Milan Londoh, the Mickey Mouse theatrical short Get a Horse, and a teaser trailer. To those, the Blu-ray will add deleted scenes and three making-of featurettes. Strangely, no Blu-ray 3D edition is scheduled at this time. Two of 2013's final awards contenders make their nationwide expansions today and we've got reviews of each.

From director Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich, Where the Wild Things Are), Her tells the story of a lonely writer (Joaquin Phoenix) in Los Angeles of the near-future who falls in love with his computer's operating system (voiced by Scarlett Johansson). Co-starring Amy Adams, Rooney Mara, Olivia Wilde, and Chris Pratt, this film will vie for Best Picture (Comedy/Musical), Best Actor (Comedy/Musical), and Best Screenplay at Sunday's Golden Globes. Adapted from Tracy Letts' Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning play, August: Osage County reunites a large, secretive family to observe the death of its patriarch. Three-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep heads an ensemble cast that also includes Julia Roberts, Ewan McGregor, Juliette Lewis, Benedict Cumberbatch, Dermot Mulroney, and Abigail Breslin. John Wells ("ER", The Company Men) directs from Letts' own adaptation. Streep and Roberts are both nominated for acting Globes. Our review.

January 9, 2014 - Our newest review covers next week's Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD UltraViolet release of Fruitvale Station. One of 2013's most acclaimed films, this drama tells the true story of Oscar Grant (Michael B. Jordan), an Oakland man who spends parts of his fateful New Year's Eve 2008 with his mother (Octavia Spencer), girlfriend (Melonie Diaz), and 4-year-old daughter Tatiana (Ariana Neal). January 8, 2014 - Linsanity documents the sensational rise of Jeremy Lin, one of the NBA's only Asian American players. Looking at Lin's upbringing in Palo Alto, California as the son of Taiwan immigrants, his success in high school and at Harvard University, and his struggle to make and stay on an NBA team, this film directed by Evan Jackson Leong culminates with his extraordinary February 2012 when he became the New York Knicks' starting point guard and led them on a remarkable winning streak. January 7, 2014 - Our latest DVD review looks at Key of Life, which hits general retail from Film Movement after joining their Film of the Month Club last summer. Written and directed by Kenji Uchida, this Japanese comedy finds a broke actor and a skilled hitman switching places after one of them slips at a public bath house and forgets who he is. Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD UltraViolet Review

January 3, 2014 - This week, in advance of Hallmark Channel's forthcoming spin-off series, Millennium Entertainment's formerly Walmart exclusive DVD of When Calls the Heart has been released to general retail. Adapted from the first book in Janette Oke's Canadian West series by director/producer Michael Landon Jr. (the Love Comes Softly series), this Hallmark original movie tells the stories of aspiring schoolteacher Elizabeth Thatcher (Poppy Drayton) and the unknown aunt of the same name (Maggie Grace), whose diary documents her inspirational experiences of teaching in the West. Muppet Treasure Island & The Great Muppet Caper Blu-ray + DVD Review

January 2, 2014 - Our first review of 2014 covers Muppet Treasure Island & The Great Muppet Caper, a Disney combo pack that puts all of the Muppets' theatrical films on Blu-ray Disc. • The Wolf of Wall Street - In this latest collaboration between Leonardo DiCaprio and director Martin Scorsese, DiCaprio plays Jordan Belfort, a young New Yorker who quickly strikes it rich by selling penny stocks to the desperate. Belfort's lifestyle of excesses threatens to come tumbling down when federal authorities begin investigating him for fraud. A month later than planned, this outrageous, comedic true story finally checks in with a hard R rating and a nearly three-hour runtime.
• The Secret Life of Walter Mitty - Ben Stiller stars as a daydreaming Life magazine employee who travels the world in search of the photograph that might serve as the publication's final cover image. Stiller also directed this PG-rated fantasy adventure, which co-stars Kristen Wiig, Sean Penn, and Adam Scott, from a script by Steve Conrad (The Pursuit of Happyness).
• American Hustle - Director David O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook, The Fighter) extends his hot streak with a film based on the FBI's Abscam sting operation of the 1970s. A con artist (Christian Bale) and his moll (Amy Adams) are pushed into aiding an undercover federal agent (Bradley Cooper) uncover large-scale corruption in public officials. Jennifer Lawrence and Jeremy Renner co-star in one of 2013's most esteemed and acknowledged films.
• Saving Mr. Banks - Dramatizes the difficulties that Walt Disney's studio faced in the 1960s while trying to make Mary Poppins in a way that satisfied the book series' author P.L. Travers. The Blind Side's John Lee Hancock directs Emma Thompson (Travers) and Tom Hanks (Walt) in this PG-13 drama named one of the year's ten best films by the American Film Institute and the National Board of Review.
• Frozen - Disney's 53rd animated feature loosely fashions Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Snow Queen into a Broadway-style musical adventure. After a childhood accident, Anna grows up not knowing her older sister Elsa has powers. From a director of Tarzan and Surf's Up, a writer of Wreck-It Ralph, and a creator of Avenue Q and Book of Mormon, the film features the voices of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, and Jonathan Groff. The feature is preceded by Get a Horse!, an Oscar-shortlisted new Mickey Mouse animated short that's partly in the style of his earliest cartoons.
• Nebraska - This highly acclaimed comedy-drama directed by Alexander Payne (Sideways, The Descendants) tells the story of a middle-aged Montana man (Will Forte) taking his aging father (Bruce Dern) on a road trip to Lincoln, Nebraska to collect a million dollars he believes he's won. Co-starring June Squibb, Bob Odenkirk, and Stacy Keach, this black and white indie is sure to compete in this year's Academy Awards.

Recent Blu-ray and DVD Reviews:
• Hell Baby (Blu-ray) - "Reno 911!" creators Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon wrote and directed this horror comedy, which stars Rob Corddry and Leslie Bibb as an expectant couple that moves into a possibly haunted New Orleans home, where strange things happen. Garant and Lennon play Vatican priests assigned to investigate supernatural phenomena, while Rob Huebel, Paul Scheer, and Keegan-Michael Key co-star. Millennium's unrated disc adds two gag reels, a trailer, and nearly half an hour of deleted/extended scenes.
• Last Love - Drama stars Michael Caine and Clιmence Poιsy (Harry Potter's Fleur Delacour) as two strangers who form a fast, unlikely, and special friendship in Paris. Co-starring Justin Kirk and Gillian Anderson, this unrated limited theatrical release hits home video tomorrow joined by 16 minutes of deleted scenes and 10 minutes of outtakes.
• Sweetwater (Blu-ray) - Western stars four-time Oscar nominee Ed Harris as a salty sheriff, "Mad Men"'s January Jones as a former call girl, and Jason Isaacs (the Harry Potter series) as a bigamist preacher. Their paths cross in deadly ways in the late-19th century frontier. This film by brothers Logan and Noah Miller is joined by a making-of featurette, a "music video", and a trailer.
• The Lone Ranger (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy) - The classic hero of radio, film serials, and television is reinvented in the mold of Pirates of the Caribbean by producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski. Johnny Depp stars as Tonto, who tells the story of his adventures with a masked Texas ranger (Armie Hammer) and a vicious outlaw (William Fichtner). Disney's combo pack includes making-of featurettes, a deleted scene, bloopers, and an Easter egg.
• Matilda (Blu-ray) - This 1996 adaptation of Roald Dahl's novel stars Mara Wilson (Mrs. Doubtfire) as a brilliant young girl with lousy parents (Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman). She uses her newly-discovered gifts to help her teacher Miss Honey (Embeth Davidtz) and stand up to the horrible headmaster Trunchbull (Pam Ferris). Sony's Blu-ray adds a 21-minute cast and crew reunion to Wilson's on-set documentary, additional making-of featurettes, and Digital HD UltraViolet.
• South Seas Adventure (Blu-ray + DVD) - Flicker Alley's release of a 1958 Cinerama travelogue that takes you to Hawaii, New Zealand, and Australia. Orson Welles narrates part of this feature, whose original photography is upheld in a Smilebox simulation. The two-disc set adds audio commentary, a vintage making-of featurette, two interviews, a photo slideshow, the Cinerama short Renault Dauphine, and the trailer.
• Insidious: Chapter 2 (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD UltraViolet) - Director James Wan (The Conjuring) and screenwriter Leigh Whannell (Saw) revisit the subject of their 2011 low-budget hit involving the supernatural disturbance of a family of four (headed by Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne). Sony's combo pack holds over an hour of bonus features including making-of featurettes, an on-set cast & crew Q & A, and three "Spectral Sightings" web shorts.
• The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (Blu-ray) - Another demanded catalog Fox title hits Blu-ray looking terrific in the studio's recent release of This romantic dramatic fantasy finds a young widow (Gene Tierney) moving into a house where she is haunted by its former owner, a late sea captain (Rex Harrison). This 1947 film, which later inspired a 1960s sitcom, is now available to own with two audio commentaries and its original trailer.
• Grey Gardens (The Criterion Collection Blu-ray) - This 1976 Maysles Brothers documentary that inspired an Emmy-winning HBO movie spends time with the eccentric Big Edie and Little Edie Beale, a mother and daughter related to Jackie Onassis who live among wild cats and raccoons in a decaying 28-room Long Island mansion. The film is joined by audio commentary, the 2006 follow-up film The Beales of Grey Gardens, scrapbooks, trailers, interviews, and an essay booklet.
• Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (The "Rich Mahogany" Edition Blu-ray) - This oft-quoted, rewatchable 2004 comedy stars Will Ferrell as a 1970s San Diego newscaster who has difficulty adapting to a woman (Christina Applegate) being made his co-anchor. Co-written by Ferrell and director Adam McKay (Step Brothers, The Other Guys) and produced by Judd Apatow, this popular film features Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, and a host of cameos. Formerly a Best Buy exclusive, Paramount's two-disc Blu-ray includes theatrical and unrated cuts of the film as well as the "lost movie" Wake Up, Ron Burgundy compiled from deleted and alternate scenes. Several hours of additional extras include Burgundy's MTV Movie Award interviews, two variations of the same random audio commentary, nearly an additional hour of deleted & extended scenes, bloopers, alternate takes, Burgundy's SportsCenter audition, the cast's audition tapes, table reads, rehearsal footage, trailers, and an "Afternoon Delight" music video. The box also adds Ron's personal diary "The Many Months of Burgundy", a pack of 12 character trading cards, and $7.50 in Movie Cash to see Anchorman 2.
• Nashville - Juggling twenty-four lead characters, Robert Altman's celebrated 1975 ensemble drama looks at the personal and professional lives of established and aspiring musicians in Tennessee's capital, where a presidential candidate is campaigning. Consisting of one Blu-ray and two DVDs, this Dual Format Edition includes a new hour-long making-of documentary, Altman's 2000 audio commentary, three interviews of the director, a trailer, and Keith Carradine's demos of his Oscar-winning song and other original compositions.
• Prisoners (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD UltraViolet) - Hugh Jackman, Maria Bello, Viola Davis, and Terrence Howard play the parents of two neighboring Pennsylvania families whose youngest daughters go missing on Thanksgiving Day. Jake Gyllenhaal is the detective assigned to the case, while suspicion falls on Paul Dano. From the director of the Academy Award-nominated Incendies, this suspenseful mystery hits home video joined by two making-of featurettes.
• Raiders of the Lost Ark (Blu-ray + Digital HD) - Directed by Steven Spielberg and written by George Lucas, the 1981 blockbuster that began the Harrison Ford adventure series is joined by three high definition trailers plus Digital HD.
• Fast & Furious 6 - This blockbuster latest installment to the enduring action franchise reunites Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) and company for a London mission that involves their presumed dead old friend (Michelle Rodriguez). Dwayne Johnson, director Justin Lin, and screenwriter Chris Morgan all return from Fast Five. Universal's Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD UltraViolet includes theatrical and alternate cuts on Blu-ray. The BD also holds hours of bonus features, deleted scenes, a Lin audio commentary, and behind-the-scenes featurettes among them.
• Elysium - In a dystopic future, an ex-con turned factory worker (Matt Damon) with days to live tries to fulfill his lifelong dream of reaching the space station reserved for the elite. This is the second film from District 9 writer/director Neill Blomkamp.
• Mary Poppins (50th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy) - This multiple Academy Award-winning 1964 musical fantasy reaches high definition with four Mary-oke animated song lyric shorts and a new conversation between Jason Schwartzman and Richard Sherman, the songwriter he plays in Saving Mr. Banks. Hours of additional extras on the film and the ongoing Broadway adaptation complement a dazzling feature presentation.
• Jayne Mansfield's Car (Blu-ray) - In 1969, the death of a woman brings her British family to meet her prior one in small-town Alabama for her funeral. Billy Bob Thornton wrote and directed thsi period drama, which also stars him, Robert Duvall, John Hurt, Kevin Bacon, Robert Patrick, and Ray Stevenson.
• Adore (Blu-ray + Digital Copy) - The Australian drama stars Naomi Watts and Robin Wright as lifelong best friends who become romantically involved with one another's sons (Xavier Samuel, James Frecheville). Adapted from the novel by Nobel Prize winner by screenwriter Christopher Hampton (Dangerous Liaisons, Atonement).
• Bill Cosby: ...Far from Finished (Blu-ray) - The legendary comic's first new special in thirty years. Closely following its Comedy Central premiere, this California performance hits home video in an extended 95-minute cut, finding Cosby talking about marriage and family. Now available, the Blu-ray includes a 49-minute interview of Cosby by director Robert Townsend, behind-the-scenes clips, and fan testimonials.
• The Deflowering of Eva van End - Film Movement presents a Dutch comedy about a dysfunctional family who welcomes in a German exchange student who quickly changes their lives. The disc includes two additional short films from director Michiel ten Horn, a trailer, and a biography.
• The Smurfs 2 (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + DVD) - While Gargamel (Hank Azaria) is finding success as a stage magician, Smurfette (voiced by Katy Perry) is running with his latest creations, the gray, mean Naughties. Sony's combo pack includes the 22-minute mini-movie The Legend of Smurfy Hollow, deleted scenes, five making-of featurettes, and UltraViolet.
• The Call of the Wild (Blu-ray) - This 1935 adaptation of Jack London's novel stars, Clark Gable, Loretta Young, and Jack Oakie as a trio in search of a supposedly prosperous gold claim in 1900 Yukon. Their adventures include an arrogant prospector and a lovable giant St. Bernard. Now available as one of the winners of Fox's "Voice Your Choice" campaign, the Blu-ray includes an audio commentary and trailer.
• All the Boys Love Mandy Lane (Blu-ray) - Seven years after premiering at the Toronto Film Festival, the horror movie finally hits home video. From the director of Warm Bodies and 50/50, it stars a teenaged Amber Heard as the desired titular high school student. She joins five classmates on a weekend getaway in a remote country ranch, where, needless to say, things get strange. Anchor Bay's Blu-ray includes a commentary from director Jonathan Levine.
• The Rutles Anthology (Blu-ray + DVD) - VSC's combo pack holds the 1978 telemovie All You Need Is Cash and its 2005 direct-to-video follow-up Can't Buy Me Lunch. Executive produced by Lorne Michaels, the two films celebrate the faux Liverpudlian band The Rutles, a group that bears deliberate resemblance to The Beatles. Monty Python's Eric Idle wrote, directed, and stars in these mockumentaries, which include appearances by the likes of Mick Jagger, Bill Murray, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Gilda Radner, Tom Hanks, Conan O'Brien, Robin Williams, Jimmy Fallon, and Jewel. The films are joined by a new 45-minute Idle commentary/interview, a '70s SNL sketch, a trailer, and an Easter egg.
