February 27, 2004 - The suspense is undoubtedly at its high point as our Live Action Countdown wraps up today. Even if you think you know the top two films, can you be sure of the order? Well, the big surprise is that neither Superdad nor The Cat from Outer Space are among the top two films. No, no. Finishing in second place is Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Which of course means the top spot belongs to none other than Mary Poppins.
I hope you've enjoyed the countdown and that it's made the second month of your Roman calendar a little more special than last year's February. Thanks to all who submitted comments on the films - the write-ups were an amazing mix and many of them were particularly poignant.
So that's it for the Live Action Countdown. It's been...educational.
For the greater majority of site visitors who've ignored the countdown altogether, well we'll throw a bone your way, today, too. (Even if you've been oblivious to a really cool feature into which a lot of work went.) Another DVD review. This time, Captain Jack Seiley reviews Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. It may this website's second most beloved live action film, but it's second to none in title length.
February 26, 2004 - Very few live action Disney films are as beloved as today's featured film, The Parent Trap is #3. You can find out the only two films which are even more adored by UltimateDisney.com site members, when our Top Live Action Film Countdown wraps up tomorrow.
DVD reviews #69 and 70 have just been posted: Bon Voyage! (1962) starring Fred MacMurray, and both DVD versions of The Emperor's New Groove (2000).
We now have our first look at new potential cover artwork for this fall's Aladdin: Platinum Edition, courtesy of a retailer who will cancel your orders if they've been placed with Flooz:

February 24, 2004 - We are down to just five films in the Best Live Action Disney Film Countdown that's been running all month. Today's entry, #5, blends animation and live action, with some magical music in a period English setting. It's...Bedknobs and Broomsticks!

The seventh-place finisher in our Live Action Countdown may not be readily available at your local retailer, but it has the status of being one of Walt's first feature films to combine animation and live action, as well as the fable-like reputation of a forgotten classic. It's Song of the South at #7.
We've added a still from the Koda's Outtakes DVD exclusive bonus feature on the Brother Bear DVD, though it's not really clear, without much context. Click on the picture for a larger view.
