I have a legit set, and there are no barcodes on the inner rings of the discs, only numbers.

I'm glad that they're keeping the original soundtracks on the latest PEs after what happened to the Little Mermaid. Has there been any word on whether this was restored by DTS/LDI or by someone else?

If I'm not mistaken most European cinemas were showing the films in 1.66:1 so they would probably want to accommodate for that. And of course you always need some margins if you want to move around something or make last minute changes (I'd bet most background are even bigger than what is in the ful...

Kiki's does have a 2-disc edition, but like many of the other films, the actual extra content is pretty weak. Basically they have a couple of trailers, a featurette on the American dubbing, and then the second disc contains the entire movie in storyboards. Might be appealing to some people, but pers...

As mentioned, "Mickey's Trailer" looked pretty bad due to being taken from some old video master, and I think one or two of the "Three Little Pigs" shorts suffered a similar fate, but apart from those almost all of them were remastered/restored. Yes, even "The Grasshopper an...

Actually no. If you look at it again you'll see that the indentation behind the picture is too high up on the face of the tin. Basically it looks like this particular lid was rotated 180 degrees somewhere between adding the WDT title/serial number and the indentation/picture.

In my opinion it is weird and incorrect. A couple of quotes from M-W about the word "restoration": "a bringing back to a former position or condition" or "a representation or reconstruction of the original form" . But since these films were stored digitally to begin wit...

I don't think Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Lion King etc. should be on the list since they were all-digital to begin with. There's nothing to restore really, at least not in the film restoration sense as with the other ones. As for which one of them I thought was best, I'm not sure, as there were good t...

The fact that you've even say HD in a Disney Forum offends me. You know full well Disney are locked to BLU-RAY! If my Marketing Manager found out he'd scream. DISNEY ARE ON BLU-RAY ONLY! HD will fizzle and die like those trendy Super-Bit DVDs. Remember them? Yeh...they're cool....PFFTT First of all...

Nice! Full resolution and png screencaps, thanks Jordan!

And I have to agree it looks pretty good, especially the underwater scene. Sharp, good colours and a bit of film grain; just the way I like it.

Some more spoilers:

The mountain is Twin Peaks, the houses near the pumpkinman is The Village, the people with the map is Lost Boys.

I managed to get 42 after some browsing on IMDb. BTW, are there no spoiler tags on this board?

Pretty well done. Though I could only find just about half of the titles, and out of those I have actually only seen a handful; they're not exactly my type of movies.

Jordan, so your DVDs that come from axelmusic.com are shipped from Germany when you order them? Is it only Region 1 DVDs that you've ordered so far, or Region 2? I'd love to order some things there and if they shipped from Germany, I wouldn't have to pay customs for my DVDs since I live in Germany....

Movie wise, definitely Cinderella. I greatly prefer the movies about animals and I'm not a big fan of standard princess stories or this particular tale either.

DVD wise, Beauty and the Beast (compression artifacts galore! :x)

Barty, you're probably right about the DEHT mixes. I haven't really studied them on the newer films like Aladdin and TLK, I only remember them being slightly louder and with added bass. My point was just that since the orignal tracks were 5.1 they at least have something to work with and they probab...

What I'm really hoping for though is for Disney to include two different versions of all the old films: restored original version and retouched version. So with things like Cinderella you could have both the movie as it looks on DVD today, like smooth, modern digital animation with all the colour c...
