Re: What Disney toys did you have (or want) as a child?
I dont have a lot still from when I was actually a kid, also it would take forever to go through all of what I used to have, I'll just share a bit of what I still have. These might be more merch than toys though, depending on your definition. The toy story items (from 1995) and the commemorative mic...

This really doesn't look good. I wouldn't be shocked if they have little confidence in it.

Re: Do you still keep a collection of Disney DVDs/BDs/4Ks?
I recently got a 65 inch oled, not only is the it the first oled I've had, but the first time I've had a 4k tv. My last tv was only 720p. For years I mostly watched movies on other devices, like my pc monitors, ipad, etc. but 4k oleds change everything, makes me to want to rewatch everything. Thing ...

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney
I mean, sure, its not perfect, but its rare to find anyone even attempting animation on this level, so I still gotta give props where its due. I dont think calling it bad is giving it nearly enough credit. Most would just do some lousy cut out animation to do this.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a contractual agreement or just a gentleman's handshake agreement or something.

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney
Andreas Deja's animated short, Muskha has finally been released. Its not free, but its only 3 bucks, and its 28 mins long. Seems like a fair price. (its higher on other platforms or some reason) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0G3XXR29M As we wrap up the year, its kinda wild we got as much hand drawn as ...

Re: Power Rangers (Disney+ Series)
I wouldnt expect that at all. Amy jo declined to appear in once a ranger, she no longer wants to act. David yost already returned for a whole season for cosmic fury, as a mentor and a ranger. I dont think they'll just want to repeat that. This will be a full on reboot. probably with the mmpr motif, ...

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney
Its not going to get taken down, that'd be silly. They already let it run its course on other outlets for the award circuit, its here to stay.
I was pleasantly surprised to see he uploaded this in 4k, the previous upload for paid viewing on vimeo was stuck at a compressed 1080p. This looks better.

No, they havent?
None of Disney's animated movies have been "photo realistic" in the first place. Unless you count the "live action" adaptations.

Re: Toy Story 5
Why now though? Even before tablets, even in the '90s kids stopped playing with toys around age 6-7 and started playing video games. There have even been PlayStations since the mid '90s. Videos games were just one of many options for kids when 90's consoles were around. toys were still king I think...

Re: Moana (Live-Action)
You just know the people complaining on Twitter and FB about this being "too soon" are the same folks who saw "How to Train Your Dragon" opening weekend. I certainly wasn't. It was too soon for that movie too. also, that movie is 6 years older, its not quite as fresh as moana. M...

Re: Moana (Live-Action)
Seems the big controversy with this one, aside from the whole "too soon" aspect, is going to be the straightening of the lead actress' hair, despite casting someone who already had the perfect hair for the part. What a braindead move on their part. I'm not even sure I'll hate watch this on...

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney
So, I was looking to buy some 16 field animation paper, particularly the same type Aaron Blaise uses, and it turns out they ran out of stock, and will never have it back in stock, as there's no demand for it. This bummed me out becuase I wanted to try it with my animation disc. So I checked ebay for...

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney
Right, what its attempting to do is take something that artists in the real world are dealing with, which is the fear of being replaced by ai, and turning that into a more character driven conflict, with humor. In this universe, the main protag has been getting less mascot art gig to make a living, ...
