Its not going to get taken down, that'd be silly. They already let it run its course on other outlets for the award circuit, its here to stay.
I was pleasantly surprised to see he uploaded this in 4k, the previous upload for paid viewing on vimeo was stuck at a compressed 1080p. This looks better.

Re: Untitled WDAS Film (2028)
No, they havent?
None of Disney's animated movies have been "photo realistic" in the first place. Unless you count the "live action" adaptations.

Re: Toy Story 5
Why now though? Even before tablets, even in the '90s kids stopped playing with toys around age 6-7 and started playing video games. There have even been PlayStations since the mid '90s. Videos games were just one of many options for kids when 90's consoles were around. toys were still king I think...

Re: Moana (Live-Action)
You just know the people complaining on Twitter and FB about this being "too soon" are the same folks who saw "How to Train Your Dragon" opening weekend. I certainly wasn't. It was too soon for that movie too. also, that movie is 6 years older, its not quite as fresh as moana. M...

Re: Moana (Live-Action)
Seems the big controversy with this one, aside from the whole "too soon" aspect, is going to be the straightening of the lead actress' hair, despite casting someone who already had the perfect hair for the part. What a braindead move on their part. I'm not even sure I'll hate watch this on...

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney
So, I was looking to buy some 16 field animation paper, particularly the same type Aaron Blaise uses, and it turns out they ran out of stock, and will never have it back in stock, as there's no demand for it. This bummed me out becuase I wanted to try it with my animation disc. So I checked ebay for...

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney
Right, what its attempting to do is take something that artists in the real world are dealing with, which is the fear of being replaced by ai, and turning that into a more character driven conflict, with humor. In this universe, the main protag has been getting less mascot art gig to make a living, ...

Why would I be greatfull when I've never seen the execution of the idea? It could have been terrible, it could have been charming, we'll never know.

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney
^ the mascots got taken over by LLMs (ai) so they are now haunted essentially, I dont think that was properly conveyed, but that's the idea behind what is really just a pitch for a larger full length project. Anyway, yesterday Aaron Blaise's Snow Bear has finally been released in the form of an onli...

Those movies didnt bomb because they cast different races people, they bombed because they were bad movies, with poor direction.

I wouldn't want her as gothel, but it wouldn't be because of age alone. Like, maybe they would rather have someone younger so they show her in her youth more accurately. Its probably easier to age up than down from an effects standpoint.

I still resent what happened under his leadership in that he spearheaded the cheapening and eventually death of handrawn, but at this point I would welcome it he were take back over, ironically. That's how far the company has fallen.

Re: Toy Story 5
No, I dont believe in the idea of a franchise theme like that. This isn't like star wars where you get an opening crawl set to the theme. Every time they reuse that song, it loses its impact. The only times I have liked its usage was the og (of course) and when woody sings it in the background of wo...
