So this is a matted version of the movie? What is the point of buying a matted version if I have the Gold Classic Collection? I don't get it? :? I wonder how many times we are going to have to go round and round about this. I was once quite confused about this myself but Luke cleared it up for me a...

While UK is still doing a "Walt Disney Classics" series, here in the United States, the Classics series was retired in 1994. Then from 1994 to 1999, they had a "Masterpiece Collection," which was then retired.

COOL!!! That sounds totally awesome! When I was a kid and I watched "Mickey's Nutcracker" on TV, since the costume masks didn't blink or move their mouths, I found it a bit odd, but I enjoyed hearing the costume characters acting to the original Disney 'toon voice cast! This will add the i...

My question means is there anyone else that has a copy of "Robin Hood" (the 1991 Classic edition) like mine? (To repeat, it has NO previews, green FBI cards, and the FULL Disney Classics logo at the beginning.)

Plus, why were there two versions anyway?

Robin Hood VHS question... please help!

I need a lot of help on this thing here. Since "Robin Hood" (the Disney version with the animals from 1973) is coming to DVD soon, I have a huge question. This regards to the 1991 "Walt Disney Classics" VHS edition of the movie. The version I know that is the most common starts o...

The artwork on the ad seems to be reused from the Black Diamond Classic edition from the mid-90s. Plus, I agree that Tod looks off-model on the new DVD cover. Plus, since it was from after Disney's death, it should read "Disney's" or "Walt Disney" or "Walt Disney Productions...

Great Mouse Detective "widescreen"

Hey, am I the only one who noticed this? On that Disney "The Great Mouse Detective" DVD, the film is merely in fake widescreen instead of true. I compared it with the same frames from an old GMD website that had full-frame screengrabs. I was wondering if that movie was originally filmed in...

Walt Disney "Sorcerer Mickey" petition!

All right, you might find this crazy, but what with the accidental appearance of the 1986 "Sorcerer Mickey" Walt Disney Home Video logo on the "My Dog, The Thief" DVD (which was copied from, what I believe, a VHS tape made in the 90s), it has given me an idea! So I created this p...

The PAL "Walt Disney Classics" videos

Hey, I noticed something odd on the Non-North American Disney VHS and DVDs of classic animated features. For the VHSs, they had a Classics series, though their print logo in the 80s up until 1997 was just simply "Walt Disney Classics" above the title or "Disney-CLASSICS", though ...

A Tale of Two Robin Hood VHSs

Hello, I have a little situation that's been bugging me a bit. Just last month, when I ordered my copy of the 1991 Walt Disney Classics edition of "Robin Hood" off Ebay (this is in case Disney decides to make a special edition of the film someday on DVD; I collect BOTH DVD and VHS), I foun...

Plus, Disney doesn't seem it's going to do 2-d animated features anymore. :( That is, until the rumors become true that Pixar will experiment with 2-d animation (I bet it will turn out very UPA-like or like "Toot Whistle Plunk and Boom.)

Sorcerer Mickey returns!

Hey, did anyone notice the new "My Dog the Thief" DVD from Walt Disney Home Video/Entertainment? I read on a post that this DVD actually features the Sorcerer Mickey "Walt Disney Home Video" logo from 1987! (the one with the red lettering on a black background). Was this because ...

Actually, Viacom bought out Dreamworks, so now they own Shrek and Madagascar and such. Personally, I am not sure about this idea. It could mean Disney's own animated films will start bombing and getting unpopular all over again, thanks to stiff competition of Pixar's films! They draw the audience aw...

I have this version, but it's an ex-rental and it has one of those stupid video-store labels over where the label space goes, and it is hard to remove so I can't tell. But a friend of mine DOES have the same video, and it DOES have the thing that Robin Williams described in many bad words on "D...
