I saw a video at Disney.com for a new Disney stage show, Disney Live: Mickey's Magic Show, which will be eventually touring the country. The main surprise is the fact that the costume characters now have MOVABLE MOUTHS & BLINKING EYES! This could possibly be introduced to the park's characters in the future. What do you think about this?
There's an article about this as well as a backstory on talking costumed characters at JimHillMedia.com. Check it out here:

COOL!!! That sounds totally awesome! When I was a kid and I watched "Mickey's Nutcracker" on TV, since the costume masks didn't blink or move their mouths, I found it a bit odd, but I enjoyed hearing the costume characters acting to the original Disney 'toon voice cast! This will add the illusion that Disney cartoon characters seem to be ALIVE!

If you click on the official Disney link (not the Jim Hill one), you can click on the top and see Photos and Video. In the photos you can see some where Mickey and friends have their mouths closed and in the video there are some brief clips of Mickey's mouth moving up and down. I guess one can say he moves like Big Bird and other Muppet characters. It's very bizarre and creepy, but awesome to see the once static faces finally move like they should!! Thanks for the link and info, FantasiaMan!!! Now all they have to do is develop voice changers for the cast members at the parks!magicalwands wrote:That would be so cool. I hope they don't go cheap and give it a mouth like a dummy's with slits on the sides of the mouth so the mouth can move. It has got to be believable.
