A Tale of Two Robin Hood VHSs

Post by Logoliker2004 »

Hello, I have a little situation that's been bugging me a bit. Just last month, when I ordered my copy of the 1991 Walt Disney Classics edition of "Robin Hood" off Ebay (this is in case Disney decides to make a special edition of the film someday on DVD; I collect BOTH DVD and VHS), I found my copy a bit different that one I previously saw before.

You see, my aunt has the 1991 print of "Robin Hood," too. The same cover artwork, etc, but the beginning of the tape is DIFFERENT!

Her Version:
Uses the red FBI intro, then the 1987 Walt Disney Home Video logo (with Sorcerer Mickey), and then a preview for another movie/video (I honestly don't remember), and then the Feature Presentation bumper comes up, followed by an "abridged" version of the 1988 Walt Disney Classics logo (where the Mickey sequence is cut; only the spark and diamond animation is seen) and then the film starts.

MY Version:
Starts with a green "Licensed for private..." and "Dupilcation in whole or..." intro, and then the 1988 Walt Disney Classics logo plays in full (complete with Mickey at the beginning), the version used on this one seems to be a prototype version of the logo; I remember seeing it when I rented "Cinderella," and then the film starts.

I took this screenshot, off the Robin Hood video I mentioned

This is really weird, and it makes me think whenever it pops up in my mind. I wonder why two prints of 1991's "Robin Hood" were made? :?
