PETITION FOR UNCUT UNCENSORED FANTASIA BLU RAY

http://img710.imageshack.us/img710/3120/ingleseo.jpg Hi everyone from Italy. As we all know Fantasia is about to be reissued in blu ray. We on our Italian Disney Forum would like that this time the picture should be seen without any cuts or censorship of the famous scene with the black centaurette ...

Because I think the disc is the same for both Belgium and Holland and perhaps there are some other languages on it (the 138 minutes version was dubbed in Europe ONLY in French and was distributed only in France and England,, in Italy we also have only the 112 minutes version) The older Dutch disc (...

Disney released the new Bedknobs and Broomsticks release this week in The Netherlands. According to the press release and cover the running time is 77 minutes (PAL). The disc however includes the 112 minutes (PAL) version. Why not release the 134 minutes (PAL) version? :( Because I think the disc i...

dye transfer Technicolor

Yes, you're right. The original dye transfer prints had the property to be apparently grain-free. This fact was inherent to the dye -transfer process. The prints made from Technicolor negatives after 1973 in USA and after 1978 in Italy were all made in cheaper Eastmancolor process with much more gra...

color negative

Hi, the fact is that original negatives in Technicolor don't fade because they are in black and white. Original negatives of movies made AFTER 1954 are all on single color film (eastmancolor) and, if not stored properly, tend to fade. Only cartoon features, until the shut down of dye transfer facili...

Italian version of Pete's Dragon

Hi, here in Italy since the first showing in 1978 we had only the 106 minutes version, that apparently was the only one distributed in Europe.

technirama

But I've always thought that Super Technirama 70 is a non-anamorphic process. Anamorphic lens is only used when widescreen image is "squeezed" into horisontal 35 mm film frames (e.g. CinemaScope). Super Technirama 70 as used in Sleeping Beauty has a vertical 35 mm film as its original. Ri...

8mm copies

The fact is that most of the 8mm prints of extracts of the classics made in the '70 and '80s are on Eastmancolor film that DOES NOT assure fidelity to original Technicolor in absolute! I remember seeing in Italy IB 35mm prints of Sleeping Beauty and they were very similar to the transfer of the Blu ...

Sleeping Beauty format

Wow the article on bluray.com about the restoration is great, thanks! Yes I think Sleeping Beauty was the only Technirama feature to be filmed in successive exposure black and white negative ( and that's the reason why the negative has not faded like the "Spartacus" one or "The Leopar...

Technirama and Super Technirama 70

The fact is that they have ideas a little confused about the format. FIRST : Technirama was NOT a 70mm film. It was a 35mm film moving orizzontally in the camera and so covering a frame aperture double of the standard 35mm film. Practically it was like the Vistavision negative (that created an image...

restoration clips

Hi from Italy! Very beautiful the screenshots, since I've seen many times the film in theaters here in Italy I assure that the colors are more similar to the film than in the previous dvd. Especially the RED is a real RED and not an orange like it seemed before. The color of the hair of Briar Rose i...

Fantasia

No, unfortunately not, in Italy we had the censored version since the 1973 reissue, the only way to see the black centaurette was a bootleg super 8mm taken from the 35mm reissue of 1966 and this TV broadcast that was never released on VHS.

Re: Fantasia Laserdisc Question

OK, this one really gets me. A couple people from a certain unnamed project found a Japanese laserdisc of Fantasia and had it shipped over here. It's PILA-1111. Apparently, though, this laserdisc is still edited and doesn't have those centaur scenes as found here: http://geocities.com/disney_laserd...

story of Cinderella

Beautiful and curious! And you know why the story teller says she's a CRICKET? Beacuse the first version of the recording was made by Cliff Edwards in the role of JIMINY CRICKET! I have this version of the LP (the cover is the same) the one you posted must be a later reissue. They didn't even adapt ...

Cinderella dvd in Italy

You are in good company: at least you in USA get a gift set of Cinderella, we in Italy a mere single disc edition, bad bad thing and unexplicable, since the VHS was always a big big hit and in cinemas "Cenerentola" has always been a top movie! So I say: what's happening to Buena Vista ITAL...
