I think they should just stop where they ended. A prequel may be an interesting idea for a half hour short, but I really do not seeing it being dragged out to a full lenghth feature. Don't get me wrong here. I liked all three of the Toy Story films, but I really think Pixar should try focusing more...
I'm surprised no one's mentioned Trusty getting run over by the carriage in "Lady and the Tramp." I mean, yes, it turned out he lived, but that shot of his body just lying there was far more emotionally wrenching for me than the death of Bambi's mother ever was.
the reason they got rid of it was because it was Eisner who desperately wanted a Harry Potter-like film franchise. When he was gone there was no real reason to continue making them. The most popular book had been filmed and the rest of the books don't have big appeal as movies. Especially with Disn...
I still believe Disney really only wanted to do the most popular book in the series, i.e. "Wardrobe," but felt they painted themselves into a corner when it was such a big hit. So what do they do to justify severing ties with the series? Dump "Caspian" into theaters in May right ...
At this point, though, one more set could fix the whole problem. No surprise, that's what I'm hoping for. Me too! That's the Treasure I wish for the most. I think the first disc could be filled with the remaining theatrical shorts from Walt's time: "Susie", "Casey", the 3 Chip &...
We all know that the huge Disney fans are pretty much the only ones aware of the existence of these films, so the Treasures line would be a good home for the films. Well, a lot of people are aware of several of these films' segments ('Mickey and the Beanstalk,' 'The Wind in the Willows,' 'Casey at ...
I hate how these stopgap 40s anthology films keep getting the short shrift compared to the other Disney animated features. It's time to give "Saludos Amigos," "The Three Caballeros," "Make Mine Music," "Fun and Fancy Free," Melody Time," and "The Adv...
All I want is the rest of the miscellaneous shorts (the 3 Chip 'n' Dales, "Susie the Little Blue Coupe," "Casey Bats Again," "The Small One," "John Henry," "The Little Match Girl," etc.). Hopefully there's enough to include on a second Rarities volum...
It's not bad, but it's definitely the weakest animated feature overseen by Walt himself. I think the main problem is its episodic nature and lack of focus...as well as its very abrupt 'ending.'
Especially the package features, which too many fans brush off and never really consider as part of the DAC canon. Scaps Absolutely. Though they were largely wartime compromises, the 6 anthology films (as well as "Sword") deserve at least a packaging on par with the most recent editions o...
Uncut/uncensored versions of all the 40's anthology films, along with sufficient extras ("Fantasia," "Saludos Amigos," "The Three Caballeros," "Make Mine Music," "Fun and Fancy Free," "Melody Time," and "The Adventures of Ichabod and M...
*Aside from the whole lovey-dovey fairy tale aspect, it's essentially telling young girls that if you want a man, you'll have to reject your world and your people, and change yourself entirely and comform to his. Heck, even without the "do all this to get your man", it's about a girl who ...
