Re: Sleeping Beauty Diamond Edition Blu-ray - 2014

As for upgrades - Snow White, Beauty and the Beast for picture and extras. Pinocchio has a good cinexplore feature. Alice and Bambi have similar features. What about the "inside Walt's story meetings" feature on Lady and the Tramp? Is that worth the upgrade? The platinum didn't have a com...

UK Blu ray rereleases

Hello, Does anybody know if the differently packaged rereleases in the UK of the former "Diamond edition" blu rays are the exact same discs? I want to buy Jungle Book, Bambi, Lady and the Tramp and Alice in Wonderland. But I am only buying them for the special features. (Growing up with ni...

This source also claims that they've digitally removed wires in certain scenes.

As I don't really like tampering with classic films, I am not amused.

Re: Will Tomorrowland (DL) be renamed Star Wars Land?

It really wouldn't work in Paris; most of Tomorrow Land looks vintage anyway, as that's the main theme…Jules Verne etc. I've just recently read something about a Star Wars themed expansion coming to Discoveryland in Paris, next to the Star Tours attraction, as part of their plans for the coming yea...

Re: Live-Action Widescreen and Restored on itunes

justcuttinhair, If you care about OAR, from your list you should definitely get Savage Sam and Bon Voyage. They are 4:3 pan&scan on dvd, yet widescreen (and HD) on iTunes. So you get more picture on the sides. There are a few more movies on your list that are now available for the first time in ...

Re: Live-Action Widescreen and Restored on itunes

From what I've seen, all that are available in HD, are also in widescreen, when that's the correct aspect ratio. The Littlest Outlaw for example is still 4:3. So all HD movies previously released on dvd as pan&scan are now widescreen: Like The Gnome Mobile, Son of Flubber, Bon Voyage, LT. Robin ...

Re: HD 1080p Disney Films - Online Digital Downloads Only

I've recently been looking at this, and there's a few more movies that are now available in 1080p: The Great Locomotive Chase Monkey's go home What I most like about these iTunes releases, is that movies that had only been released pan&scan on dvd, now get proper widescreen transfers. At least c...

Yes, but that dvd only contains a dvd trailer for each of the animated classics (like the usual sneek peeks on dvd's) not the theatrical trailers. Had it contained the original theatrical trailer for each animated classic, it would have been interesting. I do own it though, got it for free with Chic...

I am afraid I can't help you any further, but I would love to know how or where you found those series? (apart from the ones released by Disney on DVD) Me too, I enjoy the Walt Disney tv-live-action stuff. Living in Europe, I got first introduced to these shows through the Walt Disney Treasures line...

Every Fantasia theatrical release since 1969, and every home video release since 1991 has been edited. From what I've seen, the only available video clips of Sunflower generally come from a late 80s German TV broadcast of the film (at least, I always believed it was, based on the logo ident in the ...

* The revised shot at the end of "Something There" for the extended cut that segues into "Human Again" also shows up in the theatrical version. This one's really awkward since they cut away to the Beast bathing before the doors even close, making the shot feel sudden and incompl...

With the availability of the quality "bootlegs" of "Song of the South" out there I think we should all just calm down, put out some cash and buy one of these. I own two different bootlegs. One is sort of bare-bones, it just has the original trailer and the re-release trailer and...

I wholeheartedly agree with your post, Mike! I think SOTS would do and sell very nicely as a Disney Treasure. I think too that it would be the best way. They could make a "Disney Rarities Volume 2" Don't even mention Song of the South on the front cover. Maybe make use of the characters i...

I'm jazzed about the inclusion of four Laugh-O-Gram shorts. I'd buy the set for those alone. That goes for me too! I didn't think we would see any more walt-era cartoons released in this Treasureless-year. Gives a little hope for the future of a Treasures/Legacy-like series, to see that they are st...
