Re: The UK Announcement Thread

I know we've had Aladdin on Blu-ray for ages, but is there any chance we'll get the recent Diamond edition US release? I can only think that it might have been held until the Broadway show comes here next summer.

Re: The Rescuers Down Under

I've always been a big fan of this movie. I prefer it to the first movie - partially I think becuase I saw 'The Rescuers Down Under' before I saw 'The Rescuers' as a kid, so this was my first introduction to the characters (although I would say that I think the first movie is much more balanced in t...

Re: New DuckTales coming to Disney XD in 2017

I am so very excited about this!! Given that they've kept the main character roster the same, it seems they're not just going to plonk the core main characters in a completely new setting, which works for me. I think my biggest anxiety though is the theme tune. It's an integral part of the show so I...

Goofy Movie DVD double pack - missing extras?

I recently picked up the Goofy Movie/Extremely Goofy Movie DVD double pack from Amazon. I already have the first movie, but the additional extras (an episode of Goof Troop, for example) and the first-time DVD release for the sequel made it worth the cost of buying it again. Except, neither movie has...

'Wizards..' and 'Hannah Montana' - full season sets coming?

I notice that both Wizards Of Waverly Place and Hannah Montana have had their full seasons (1 and 2 respectively) issued as individual volume sets. Is this the way Disney are going to release them now, or can we expect full season boxsets at some point in the future? Admittedly, they're reasonably p...

I don't think anything can match 'The Lion King' - it's not just the music and the animation, it's the fact that it holds people's attention with no speech at all. It's easy enough to open with a song that tells a story a la 'Hunchback...' because you're already reeling the viewer into the story; 'T...

I liked both films but what I disliked about '...Down Under' was that it feels like several subplots that only come together at the end - I liked in the first the fact that the mice and the girl strike up a relationship whereas in the sequel Cody only seems to acknowledge them at the very end when t...

No, there isn't an English audio option for these episodes (something I found strange as surely it's easier to get hold of the English original?) Regardless, it notifies you at the start of the episode and also offers you the chance to sign up for a DVD notification scheme where you can get your dis...

The Lizzie DVDs here in the UK are so confusing to buy as they've all got the same box (well, except for HMV helpfully putting "the complete series 3" on a label on the front), so unless you're absolutely sure which episodes are in which you can't really get them, unless online. Plus none ...

The thing I don't get is, it's not like you're changing the DVDs constantly; just watch one disc first and then start over. I just don't get the fuss; it's not like the show was run over a continuous arc. Ducktales had the Bubba episodes, as I recall, a bit later on, but it's not like characters ref...

I am ecstatic about this; of course, I'm not expecting the soundtrack to follow the #1 success of America and Australia but media site Digitalspy already seems to be getting behind it; they say they'll be leaking news and interviews in the upcoming weeks. It's been given a great slot on BBC One; it'...

'Cars' was always going to get criticism for its box office performance I think; it perhaps could have been marketed better as has been pointed out, cars are very much aimed at boys but (though I haven't seen it) it looks to have the usual factors to please both genders and in fact had it managed to...

As has been said, it'd be a shame for a DVD release to be volumes of a few episodes (and I could see that happening eventually) because I really enjoyed the series and didn't think any more "childish" than Gummi Bears and Ducktales, etc.

Plus it had the best theme tune ever!

Not liking the cover art of Chip 'n Dale to be honest, but the whole issue with the pilot episodes is surely a minor gripe. In the UK the pilot episodes were definitely shown around this point in the series and besides, it's a DVD, if you have that much issue with where they come in the series then ...

I watched 'Kronk's New Groove' the other day and that was the first time I'd encountered FastPlay on R2 DVD. Can't say it particularly bothers me, though there is absolutely no point to it at all. I'd like a commentary though; I rarely listen to them but the Disney ones are usually very interesting,...

I was doing some browsing for any Golden Girls updates and it seems that they are being re-issued on the 1st of May at a new promotional price. This is listed on Play.com but there don't seem to be any actual changes, just a price drop. Weird that it's listed each boxset twice though, perhaps they'r...

Fabulous, I will definitely be buying ASAP and if this is going to be an annual thing it'd be nice for them to continue it after they've finished with these two series' with others that people have mentioned. It's a pity they're not quicker (especially as the episodes are pretty much as they were br...

I can see a lot of high demand for this DVD; in the UK the special editions might not have performed *that* well just recently but I can really see this being big and can only assume the lack of gift set is to really put the movie out there with as few frills as possible.

I'd love Jessica Simpson to do a video for 'Part Of Your World' - I didn't even realise she'd recorded it until today. She's been involved with Aladdin so who knows...I was surprised they couldn't get more high profile stars for The Lion King but I must say the re-recordings of songs on the special ...
