The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

Disney has been releasing box sets of their greatest cartoon shows. so far they have released or will be releasing the following ones:

1. Gargoyles
2. Rescue Rangers
3. Duck Tales
4. Tale Spin
5. Darkwing Duck
6. Gummi Bears
7. Walt Disney Treasures series

yet we have seen no box sets of winnie the pooh. i for one will definitely buy them and hope they get released in a much better treatment than the "growing up with WTP".

please help me out and sign the following petition. which was started yesterday in hopes that it reaches disney. hopefully it gets the treatment it deserves.

Are you referring to any series specifically? There are multiple ones are there not - wasnt there a regular animated series and the Book of Pooh CGI one.

I would love a New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh DVD set. I just have 3 old compilation tapes from when I was a kid. I also had a tape full of recorded episodes that I watched all the time, but my mom taped over it with soap operas. I saw a DVD at Wal-Mart yesterday called Learning with Winnie the Pooh or something, are those New Adventures episodes or a different series?

i am referring to the new adventures of WTP. and i believe the learning w/ series are the those but according to what i read they are directed to toddlers, thus the beginning songs is taken out and replaced w/ puppets

"Growing Up with Winnie the Pooh" is primarily episodes of "The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" with the opening credits lost and tiny little "puppet shows" scattered in between episodes. I've reviewed three volumes of this line here, here, and here, with one more to come.

The Disney Learning Adventures, however, is newly-created animation with education at the foreground moreso than entertainment, at least from what I've gathered. Aaron just reviewed one of these new volumes here.

It's pretty dumb that with Pooh and gang as popular as they are, Disney won't release a box set.

Personally, I don't find the possibility of a New Adventures boxset as unfeasible as I did last year. I don't know, maybe I'm still high from the Gummi Bears news, but with the way Disney's animated TV shows are coming to DVD lately, I wouldn't be all that suprised is they eventually got around to Pooh.

I definately think it's more likely right now than it ever was, and it'd be a great way to pimp out that "80th Anniversary" celebration thing Disney's got going right now.

well i hope they do it soon. i have been waiting for it for quite some time now. and seeing how they are releasing other shows like gummie bears and the others i really hope this one gets the same treatment seeing that it ia also one of their greatest shows.

I, too, desperately want boxed sets of this series to be released. The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is by far my favorite animated series, Disney or otherwise, and it aggravates me how Disney keeps trying to relegate it to pre-school status when the series is aimed at all ages just like other Disney shows. If Disney's trying to appeal to soccer moms, they should realize that moms would use the boxed sets to babysit their kids for hours on end as opposed to the "Growing Up" DVDs. If freaking My Little Pony can get season boxed sets, I don't see why Winnie the Pooh can't.

While anything is possible, I don't think it'll come in a "season sets" release anytime soon, if ever. While Disney has been releasing the other shows, with the exception of maybe Tail Spin, none of those shows were spin-offs. They've yet to release seasons set of The Timon and Pumbaa show, Aladdin: The Series and from the looks of it The Little Mermaid: The Series despite the platinums of their movies, so I doubt they'd do it for Winnie the Pooh.

well don't forget that the WTP series has brought a lot of money to disney as all forms. if they set them as box sets whether it be seasons or volumes they will bring a lot more money to disney because the older crowd will finally jump at them for there collection. i know i will and brother as well. i would love for my future kids to enjoy them. but for now i will like to enjoy them as well.

As usual I cannot fully contribute to this discussion as I have never seen any cartoon series in my life. I really wish I could say something...

Where did you all get to see these cartoons like Winnie the Pooh, or Gummie Bears or Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers? Was it on TV when you were young? What is a Disney related channel?

I would really like to know; although the possibility of my ever submitting some fruitful information in such a thread still seems bleak.

i watched most in the disney afternoon in the early 90's. then also the disney channel and toon disney. although most are not shown anymore.

these are the only channels i know that showed it. the disney afternoon used to be on ABC but it is no longer on

I watched New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (or whatever its title was at that point) on one of the major networks. It came on at around 6 AM on Saturday morning when I was growing up.

As has been said, it'd be a shame for a DVD release to be volumes of a few episodes (and I could see that happening eventually) because I really enjoyed the series and didn't think any more "childish" than Gummi Bears and Ducktales, etc.

Plus it had the best theme tune ever!

Well Justin Darkwing Duck was a supposed spin-off from DuckTales since DuckTales mention St. Canard. But it’s not really a spin-off.
