When will Lizzie season 2 and 3 be released on DVD?
Does anyone know when Disney will be releasing Lizzie season 2 and 3 on DVD, region 1? They have been out in the UK and AU for a few years now, why is Disney holding back for US customers?

So, I guess we have to make do with the single vols 1-4, or buy the region 2 or 4 versions, and buy a 'all-region' DVD player? Rats!!!

Ha, well, in truth, DVDjunkie, I have been quite shocked and disgusted with some things I've read that you liked in various threads. It's all a matter of personal taste.dvdjunkie wrote:Or get better taste in what you like in TV shows!!!!!!
Anyways, I suspect that we will see the rest of the show released eventually, probably if and when it gets syndicated. I heard it was going to be running on some other station soon... Maybe it already is.

Yes, Lizzie is currently being aired on one of the superstations, don't recall which one, WGN maybe? I've seen ads in TV guide for it a few weeks back. I only have local channels so that doesn't do me any good, and anyways, I like the idea of owning DVDs so I can play them whenever I want, as many times as I want.
Anyone out there who can record them to DVD for me? I'll pay for the DVD's, shipping, and something for your time and effort.

"Lizzie McGuire" and "Even Stevens" have been airing as part of WGN's weekday afternoon lineup since last October. Easiest way for me to see them, but sadly, it doesn't seem to have sped up any DVD releases. Australia gets Season 1 of "Even Stevens" and all we get here were the 4 compilations of "Lizzie" and the box set. Honestly, the box set probably would have sold alright if A) it had come about two years earlier and B) it was selling for about half of what it was. It's lame that Disney Channel shows are relegated to 4-to-5-episode discs because the target audience has less spending money. Why not just do complete, chronological compilations on a disc by disc basis, the way that the UK did?

Hmm. I thought I had heard that it was WGN. That doesn't give me much confidence, and I'm surprised to hear that it was that station too. It doesn't give me much confidence because I think a lot of areas don't even get WGN. We used to get it here when I was a kid as basic cable. We have expanded basic at my house (have since Disney Channel came around, but still haven't gone digital), but at some point they got rid of WGN, and I'm talkin' YEARS ago. All I remember of that station was that it was mostly stuff like Soul Train, Good Times, Welcome Back Kotter, Baseball, and stuff like that. I used to watch it because they showed Bozo and the Muppet Show in the mornings though, back when I was little, but besides those two, I never thought it was a very good channel. I'd have more confidence if it was running in syndication on one of the major networks. Surprised ABC isn't the one airing it.
Yeah as Luke said, it just didn't sell enough copies, and they're very cautious about releasing more sets. I personally think that Disney did do a great job on the set. I mean the episodes were complete (albeit some there that shouldn't have been), the sound was good, and the extras seemed fantastic. I mean Disney hasn't ever really done that much work for one of their children's series sets, have they? That was great on their part, and it sucks that we likely won't get to see more of it. See Disney is too cautious with this stuff. They love test the market for a long time, before committing to something that would've sold more if they just released the season in the first place. See for example, they should've released the first season of That's So Raven at Xmas time, possibly earlier. It would've sold a lot, because it's still on the air, it's immensely popular, and they could easily get some great bonus features together. It would've sold a lot considering how bloody popular the Disney Channel is at the moment. It would've cross promoted the DVD release of The Cheetah Girls 2, and Disney loves that. A season set of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody would've been good as well, because the two season sets would've promoted each other, and promoted their corresponding DCOM (That's So Raven-The Cheetah Girls 2, and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody- High School Musical). It doesn't get much better than that. Stupid Disney.

What personal antics? She's the one celeb I have not heard any negative press about. Even when she clearly lost waaay too much weight way too fast (though she seems to have recovered nicely), there didn't seem to be much media backlash. Not like with other celebs. Not saying you're wrong, but what antics are you talking about?Mr. Toad wrote:Hilary Duff's current personal antics are not going to help.

I retract my earlier comment. I cant keep my blonde actesses who want to be singers straight from my blonde singers who want to be actresses. I was thinking of Britney Spears.

Ha, yeah Britney is flavour of the month, if for negative press. Hilary Duff is turly the best of the bunch when it comes to the media, she's had just good good press through it all. And With Love is such a good song, it comes out as a single here in Australia on March 17, and I'm so buying it. And the album too, on March 31. The clip is hot, and it's hot on the radio, and everyone loves her new sounds, I hope it goes straight to Number 1.

True, but in America, as they release it to DVD, they'll split it to three seasons, with 21 on one set, and 22 on two of them. It's just easier splitting them this way, and its easier to sat that it had three seasons, since that's usually the number that Disney shows have when they go to 65 eps.

The Lizzie DVDs here in the UK are so confusing to buy as they've all got the same box (well, except for HMV helpfully putting "the complete series 3" on a label on the front), so unless you're absolutely sure which episodes are in which you can't really get them, unless online. Plus none of the DVD retailers tend to have all three seasons in stock at once.

Re: When will Lizzie season 2 and 3 be released on DVD?
So that box set was the complete first season? Because it's only labeled "Vol. 1". If it is the COMPLETE first season, I may have to get it. I have been holding back on getting it because I thought it was just a bunch of random episodes thrown together, like "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" release (which was only one disc).tkmops wrote:Does anyone know when Disney will be releasing Lizzie season 2 and 3 on DVD, region 1? **EDIT** Oh my gosh, it is 3/4 of the first season! Good enough for me!
(starts saving every single cent for the outrageously overpriced box set)
