Re: Nightmare Before Christmas Blu-ray — Coming Soon

Recently I bought Nightmare Before Christmas on Ultra HD (2023 release). As the UHD only presents the movie, all the extras are on the Blu-ray that is included in the package. The old Blu-ray was labelled Collector’s Edition (2008), and the new one is Sing a long Edition (apparently from 2013). I th...

I would especially welcome European HD or UHD releases of The Black Cauldron and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea!

Re: Perri and Navajo Adventure?

That was clever reasoning!

Apparently there is no comprehensive list of Disney’s full-length features and their theatrical supplements (domestic and foreign (re)releases)? That might be quite an effort to compile.

My own favourite combination would be Grand Canyon + Sleeping Beauty of 1959.

Re: Perri and Navajo Adventure?

That makes sense. As Perri is 75 minutes, it could use an opening short film of 20 minutes. I’m still curious if Perri had in 1957 any supplement film in the screenings. If someone has access to old U.S. newspapers, this could be searched in the film advertisements. I was able to find the supplement...

Perri and Navajo Adventure?

When Disney’s Perri was released theatrically in Finland, on December 26, 1958, it was a double bill with a film called Navajo-intiaanien parissa , presumably a short title. The latter film seems to be somewhat an enigma. It might not necessarily be a Disney title. There is no information on-line av...

Re: Pixar's Onward

According to customer comments on Amazon.co.uk, the U.K. 4K release of Onward does not include the Bonus Disc (Disc Three), unlike the U.S. 4K release. Can anybody verify this? If true, the American release would be the winner here if one wants to buy the UHD version. The bonus disc has about one ho...

One question, 10 years later: have these shorts, Working for Peanuts and Adventures in Music: Melody, been released on a regular commercial 3D Blu-ray anywhere?

Re: Pixar's Onward

This has been happening for some time now and now happens with Onward : the film is shown also in 3D in Finnish cinemas — but not in the original language. (It was similar with Toy Story 4 and Frozen 2 and Ralph Wrecks the Internet etc.) The only 3D screenings available here are dubbed in the local ...

Re: Fun and Fancy Free

I think it’s the same disc as in the American edition. It has the same contents and the same languages. The only differences are that this one is region free instead of region 1 and it doesn’t include the DVD. The Blu-ray discs are fully identical, and both are region-free (ABC), as is testified by...

Re: Toy Story 3 Blu-Ray/DVD out Nov. 2, 2010 Discussion

Any word on the 3D version of this movie? Rumor had it that it was going to be released soon... like in the next few weeks. What is funny is that Disney refers to the home 3D version on it on promos for the 3D blu-ray products. It seems that a at least a 3D trilogy box set was released in the US on...

Re: Fun and Fancy Free

As many may have noted, Fun & Fancy Free was released on Blu-ray in 2014. As I own both the Gold Collection DVD (2000) and the UK version of the BD, I created a small comparison with screenshots. Again, I’m unable to post the comparison here because the images are slightly too wide, but here’s a...

Can you help? 2 movie stars, Hollywood, June 1930

In 1930, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace invited 14 European journalists to visit the United States. I have scanned an old photograph from early June 1930 which shows the group at some Hollywood studio possibly with two movie stars. I cannot recognize the two prominent persons. Perhap...

well, let's all make a lot of noise. contact disney and let them know how we feel! both DMCquestions@movieclubinfo.com and BVHEInfo@BVHEHelp.com are good places to start. Re: The Sword in the Stone 50th Anniversary Blu-ray and DVD

What do you guys think are the chances the European Blu-ray release of SitS may feature a corrected transfer? No, I own the Scandinavian release, and it looks terrible. I created a small comparison for DVDPlaza.fi between an old DVD and the Blu-ray. Unfortunately I cannot post the comparison here (...

When comparing the old letterbox DVD from 2003 with the new blu-ray of 2014, the image quality has improved a lot. I compiled a screenshot comparison from the Scandinavian releases at DVDPlaza.fi and tried to post it here as well, but, alas, the images were too wide. Just click on the words “Näytä s...

Re: Disney Animation on Blu-ray in 2014

What if they're holding back Frozen 3D and releasing Ratatouille 3D to include a ticket to the incredibles in 3D? I was planning to buy the US 3D release of Frozen , but couldn’t find any. Luckily a local (Scandinavian) 3D+2D release was only €21.95 at a store nearby. This one has 7.1-channel audio...
