Re: Pete's Dragon - Each Version and Where to Get them

There is also a UK 2001 DVD with the 124-minute version:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASI ... tedisne-21

( I know because at the time I bought this DVD in order to avoid the local portuguese edition that had the 106-minute version ).

I believe there is a time when people are teens where, for a lot of people, ditching animation movies is a way of stating that one's no longer a child. A few years down the line, part of these people will probably watch them again. I have two kids which are now a 16-yr old boy and a 13-yr. old girl....

To be honest, couldn't they just give their movies a regular cinema re-release like they used to? I'm sure people would flock to that, as there wouldnt be the inflated ticked prices. My opinion exactly. Here in Portugal I believe only The Lion King got re-released in 3D. I went to the thatre to wat...

This may not be the exact speech in English, since I usually watch a portuguese dub, but towards the end of the first Pokemon movie there is a scene in which, referring to the clone Pokemon he created, Mewtwo says something like " I understand now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrel...

Hunchback of Notre Dame How exactly does Quasimodo's crowning as King of the Fools in what is supposed to be a popular party turns into the humiliating scene we witness? that never made sense to me, especially after the former King of The Fools is apparently well received by the crowd. Mulan After ...

Plus, it would kind of be a dick move for Disney (an American company, sure, with world wide branches), to release SotS (an American film) everywhere BUT America, which is presumably where the largest group of fans are clamoring to see it. Yet, that's exactly what they did back in the 90's with the...

I'd suggest you add the two "Barefoot Gen" movies. They're about a boy who lived in Hiroshima at the time of the bombing. To be honest, I have only seen a few excerpts from the first one, but it looks good. Also, if you are into TV series and like the work of Myazaki/Takahata, why not try ...

There's no such film as 'Make Mine Melody'. Ok, this is driving me nuts now, but I swear someone told me a couple years back about a little-known Disney release that repackaged certain segments from Make Mine Music and Melody Time, and was called either something like "Music Time" or &quo...

Just a note, which I don't really know whether it applies to you or not, since I don't know which movies you want to replace: make sure you are able to get them in widescreen before you trade away the P&S versions, or you may end up with none. I personally, if unable to buy them the right way, w...

Actually, Portuguese and Spanish are similar languages, and if you exclude the "La", the rest means the same in Portuguese as in Spanish. There is, however, a sad reason why they didn't bother with Portugal: we've never had a DVD release of that movie :x . However, I personally couldn't ca...

I pretty much only care about animated stuff, so I won't comment on the live action sequels/remakes. I don't expect a sequel to match the original, I know it's an inferior product. In my opinion, if you are passing it as a new movie, I think the least one could expect is that they bother to write an...
