Maybe that's your problem - you expect that every single person who exercises their right to free speech must also be a physical activist too. It's not going to happen. This is America, land of complainers. Get used to it.

You do a lot of bitching yourself with no end in sight as well as no apparent solution. Or your solution is for everyone to shut up. But, you know what? You're not shutting up. The right wing isn't shutting up. So, I think I deserve to have my goddamned say. I never said I was anything more than a concerned citizen. And you'd better believe what I think counts. People don't need solutions to be able to vote (who do you think you are, Ann Coulter?), and we sure as hell don't need them to express our opinions. It may sound stupid to you. But you have a choice not to respond to it. 'Tis the American way. Great, ain't it? You have the right to take a little of your own medicine. And it's a real jerk thing to do to tell me to pipe down.

We've been through this before. You do what you do, I do what I do. In fact, you shouldn't have even replied - I know all your tricks. Remember? We had a long series of PM's (before they were outlawed like Billy the Kid, or whoever).

dvdjunkie wrote:Just like most "left-wing bomb throwers" you criticize and complain, but offer no proposed solutions to the situations.
God you must think you're clever. Does this get you high? Do you get-off on this?

Okay - ignore those. I have a much better question... If you prefer the "right-wing bomb throwers"...

When they attack people, what solutions do they offer? When they attack gay people for instance, all they've got is "the bible told me so." Wow, real proof there. Except, that's their interpretation of it. Which is the same as an opinion - no real facts to back it up. And their solution? Take away rights and kill / destroy. That's their solution for everything - which is the same as no solution at all, it just creates a bigger problem. The Left Wing has the same amount of solutions as the Right Wing. Only when they attack people on the basis of character, they often use some true intelligence when doing so.

Although... that's just my opinion. You can disagree when ready.

dvdjunkie wrote:So here are three things that Ms. O'Donnell has said that I would like you to comment on and offer what you think would be the solution:

1. Rosie compared "radical" Christians to Muslim Terrorists.
Oh Junk, you already know what I think of radical Christians. You don't want to go-there.

dvdjunkie wrote:2. Announced that NO American Catholic should be allowed to be a Judge because of the Church's doctrine on abortion.
What is this about, abortion? Don't you know most topics that segue into abortion get locked. Tsk-tsk.

dvdjunkie wrote:3. Openly accused President Bush of committing treason.
Well, I'm no scholarly expert on treason, and you know quite well how I speak from the common-man's point of view... But I'd have to say Bush commits treason when he decides important decisions in the nation should be decided upon the basis of his religious beliefs... on that basis alone, he's a treasonous s.o.b. So since in most people's eyes, that's the least of all his evils, you can pretty much fill in the rest of the blanks by yourself.

Don't make me give you the eyeroll smiley.

dvdjunkie wrote:Do these sound like a sane person's rants?
They sure as hell do.

dvdjunkie wrote:The Disney company was tired of taking a beating
What beating have they taken? A dip in viewership for Phil of the Future? Fewer ticket sales for that Meet the Robinsons (or whatever) movie? Please.

dvdjunkie wrote:and after her rant Friday night, even Peter Pan couldn't save her, they have decided to part company.
Sure. Uh-huh. Oh wait, did you say something?

dvdjunkie wrote:Will Rosie go away. I think not. There are a lot of people who like her, and there are some people who loathe her. She is a total freak of nature who will succeed in spite of her mouth, and will always have those who support her beliefs, however right or wrong they may be.
And she has people like you who patronize her.

Why whenever the subject of Rosie is brought up some people ONLY see the "negative".

Yes. She is a lesbian. Yes, she is a liberal. Yes, she doesn't care what anyone thinks about what she says.
Yeah, all those are "negatives"?

Being a lesbian and a liberal is nothing to be ashamed of. She stands by her beliefs, lifestyle, and she doesn't give a rat's behind what people think.

And I love how people go at her like that, yet ignore the fact that she does SO MUCH for kids. Especially kids who are "in the system". Let's just forget the fact that she does a TON of charity work for kids, animals, and the enviroment. Let's just focus on the fact she's liberal and a lesbian. Good god, get a life!

Mind you, I am not like, "OMG! Rosie's on!". I don't dislike her, but I am not a "fan" per-say either. I do like the fact that she is proud of how far she's come. And she has far more intelligent things to say that are actually relevant, rather then stammering like that chimp we have in the Oval Office. What, because she OFFENDS people because she speaks her mind? The fact she can go on stage in front of a national audience everyday and say what is on her mind and be proud, she's got a hell of a lot more balls then most.

This thread has now devolved to a point where personal attacks, back-and-forth bickering, and profanity are popping up. If that continues much longer, it will be locked. Surely UD can discuss Rosie without a forum meltdown. (I don't know how the Tarzan threads have managed to survive).

In an attempt to steer this back to civility...

Who would everyone like to see come in as Rosie's replacement? I don't care that much, as I really only watch "The View" when Amy Grant is on it. However, there are rumors that Whoopi Goldberg is being looked at. If that happens, I'll set my DVR to record it daily. :) There has also been a lot of talk on the news about Sanjaya joining (I assume he'd be the first regular male co-host?).

I wouldn't be suprised to see Whoopi there.

I think they need someone who is bigger than life. The other women are sorta......boring. They need a woman who is actually FUNNY. Whoopi would be a good choice. I doubt it, but Kathy Griffin or Caroline Rhea.

dvdjunkie wrote:I am glad to see Rosie leaving "The View". She is the epitome of the 'left-wing bomb throwers" that the lefties out there love. She says things without any facts to back them up. Sure her opinions are her opinions and she is entitled to them. But when she starts hurting people by the things she says, then it is time to draw the line. I really think that her leaving will be a big help to ABC. They were getting a lot of pressure by a lot of groups to get her to tone down her act, or to just shut up and be a hostess.

I used to like Rosie when she was on VH1, and when she had her own variety show. But nowadays, she has turned into a one-woman hate-bearing human being, and needs to get her facts straight before she starts standing up for things that require other people to have to fix for her (i.e., her rant on Donald Trump, or her rant about the US government blowing up the World Trade Center just to start a war).

There is an old-saying that she should follow: Be sure brain is engaged before putting mouth into gear.

She wouldn't fit on The View. Ellen is doing great with her show -- whenever her show's on, I always leave it there (I could care less about The View, since I am a straight guy who can't stand that kind of talk show). She's much more funnier and likeable than Rosie and she never pigeonholes herself into certain stereotypes.

I'm glad Rosie is leaving The View, this has nothing to do with her political and sexual leanings, I just think she's a bit loose-lipped for her own good. She's done great things for kids and stuff, I would rather see her do other stuff other than doing a talk show.

Oh, I don't know... Quirky and sort-of nervous are kinds of stereotypes. If they weren't before, they are now. Thanks to her sitcom. She still does that sort of thing on her talk show.

Variety Magazine says that they are going to try out some new co-hosts. Among the names bandied about are Kathie Griffin and Billie Jean King.

Ellen wouldn't leave her successful afternoon show for "The View". And don't expect Sanjaya to be there, he is more interested in becoming a model, and a star, than stuck in a rut on a talk show like "The View".

Rumbles in the newspapers this morning say that the first week after Rosie is gone, Kelly Rippa is going to be there. But I will believe that when I see it.
