Re: Lion King spin-off "The Lion Guard' to air on Disney Jun

“It’s kind of like ‘The Lion King’ meets ‘The Avengers,’” says Disney Junior general manager Nancy Kanter ... not sure whether to laugh or feel pity about that. You can't just mix Marvel stuff with Disney- oh wait, yes they did. Why not call it "The Lion Avenger" if we make the statement ...

Re: Disney to Remake Beauty & the Beast in Live-Action

Let me get this straight: there's going to be a remake of Beauty and the Beast, now being made to its fullest due to the success of Maleficent; would possibly be a musical, probably have the feel of the Broadway (not too much); and there's a possibility that Kristen Stewart would play the role of Be...

Re: Frozen: Part V

Finally saw the film last week, and let me just say: IT'S... not my personal favorite Disney film. ... But it's still excellent! A bit better than Tangled, but not as glorious as the films that I grew up with. ... wait, it was based upon a Hans Christian Andersen work? No wonder I liked this as much...

Re: Disney DTS (audio) DVDs?

I remember now! DTS on DVD was the thing... before Blu-ray made DTS less special by having it on practically the majority of the Blu-rays... that, and taking away the newer DVD's DTS audio when Blu-ray took full control. Never had a DTS receiver back in the days of DVD so I had never heard a Disney ...

Re: Greatest Animated Scene Of All Time

I don't know about all of you, but I'm going back to topic here: 1) the final act of Bambi. (Starts when Man attacks for its final time.) So much suspense and effort being put in it. 2) Maleficent vs. Phillip. From the escape to the dragon fight, it's just so damn good! 3)the stampede in The Lion Ki...

Everywhere but the US. Haha.
:x WHY MUST YOU MESS UP MY 3D COLLECTION, DISNEY?! Seriously, they can't just make one Blu-ray package that has both 3D and regular Blu-ray?! Yeah, could've been a lot easier.

Re: Sofia the First

I seriously don't get the hate for this show. I find it much more enjoyable than some of their other shows directed at this demographic (like Henry Hugglemonster). What's this? A family with their kids approximately kindergarten age not watching Friendship is Magic? Blasphemy! (oh wait, that's not ...

Re: Sofia the First

Honest to God, I do not watch kindergarten shows, especially this one, but apparently, as I was strolling on the IMDB page of Modern Family, it became a discovery that young Ariel Winter, playing Alex Dunphy... voices Sophia? ... ah. Must've been Modern Family that had Disney decide to cast her for ...

Hey disneyftw1 I gather the Heinsenberg reference is about Breaking Bad. The "all hail princess"... not so sure. The "all hail the..." Reference was from Breaking Bad's slogan in Season 5A "All hail the king", which become a double reference of the same show in my prev...

Re: The Resurgence of Disney Animation

At the end of the day, when adjusted to inflation, Snow WHite is still the most successful Disney film, with 1.7 billion according to wikipedia... Ironic considering that Snow White is one of the least popular Disney princesses nowadays. Oldest princess still makes Heisenberg amounts of money. &quo...

Re: The Resurgence of Disney Animation

You're right: it's making more money than The Lion King, the earlier #1 box-office Disney flick. ... Haven't seen this yet. Thank god I pre-ordered the Blu-ray combo pack. Better be worth all this praise and acclaim I'm hearing about. (Though I'm betting that it may not make it my #1 Disney flick......

Re: Sleeping Beauty Diamond Edition Blu-ray - 2014

So we might be getting another Blu-ray version of the film with possible downgrades on the extras and probably the exact same restoration for both video and audio... and no possible 4K Blu-ray release, the format manufactures might make soon?! Great to hear that it'll be available digitally (iTunes,...

Wait, a film with Mickey Mouse and Roger Rabbit working together... and nothing for Bugs Bunny?! Nope. Can't let it happen if Bugs doesn't join.
(yeah, I'm actually joking. I know it's impossible to have Bugs join MIckey and Roger in a Disney flick. F***ing legal rights.)

Re: Disney Movies Anywhere - Share your ideas!

Supposedly there will be a disc-to-digital program on the future, just as they did for Disney Movies Online. For any code you've entered that didn't include a digital copy, you will be able to pay a small fee to upgrade to a digital copy. Would be nice. ... wait, Disney did this program before, wit...

Re: Disney Movies Anywhere - Share your ideas!

Bit of a rant, not bringing the program down, but: DAMN YOU DISNEY FOR BEING GREEDY EVEN FURTHER!!! I say this because it's actually more expensive and limited than Ultraviolet. I like ITunes, but have you seen the prices Disney charges on their content there? The value of digital media is less than...
