http://fansided.com/2014/03/29/tim-burt ... 16/#!BVAfqTim Burton announced today on his Facebook page that he will be teaming up with Disney to continue Mary Poppins’ story in the movie ‘Poppins’.
It looks like we’ll be seeing a very different side of Mary.
Not much else is known about it at this time, but we do know that it will be released in November 2016.
We also have the first poster down below!

I don't know what to feel about this bit of news really......
On one hand, Mary Poppins, the books, are not what you call "light-heated whimsy" and Burton could find the dark side of Poppins. But then again, he's the one who gave us the "meh" Alice in Wonderland, I'm really torn up about all of this.

I'm calling shenanigans. There's no such announcement on Tim Burton's FB page.

Fflewduur makes a point, I checked the official FB too, no announcement. Probably an early April Fools joke.
Though if Tim was going to make something with Mary Poppins, I think he should make a prequel to the original film.

An *old* April Fool's joke. This announcement (in Italian) went up on IMDB in 2011--http://www.imdb.com/news/ni9159900/Mickeyfan1990 wrote:Fflewduur makes a point, I checked the official FB too, no announcement. Probably an early April Fools joke.
There's a faux trailer on YouTube that went up in December 2010 that consists of Sweeney Todd footage. There are references to this false remake on a number of Italian sites (flimforlife.org, bad taste.it, criticissimamente.blogspot.com, and others). A cursory search indicates the story has gotten legs in English in the past month, and particularly in the past couple days. I'm thinking the fake poster is a new development. The earliest reference I've seen is a post on Yahoo Answers in response to the question "What if Tim Burton directed Mary Poppins? that links to "THE ORIGINAL Scary 'Mary Poppins' Recut Trailer" on YouTube, posted in 2006.
This is what's wrong with the internetz: people are picking up and running with this without a speck of due diligence. Google is your friend.

With Johnny Depp as Bert, and Helena Bonham Carter as Mary.
Re: Tim Burton's "Poppins"
Burton already has a connection with Poppins:

... that was posted a few days before April Fools day, which is today... and it's not shown on IMDB... it's fake.
It's okay, it's just a prank, that's all.
Better be.
