“Cars 3″ and “The Incredibles 2″ announced as Pixar sequels!

Post by disneyprincess11 »

Today at the Walt Disney Company’s annual shareholders meeting, Disney CEO Bob Iger ran through their upcoming slate of movies for the next few years. After barreling through live-action films, Iger turned to Pixar making some surprising announcements.

New sequels to “Cars” and “The Incredibles” are in the works at Pixar. No further details were given, other than to say director Brad Bird is back for “The Incredibles 2″ and “Cars 3″ is also in development.

Cars 3 always seemed an inevitability but I'm very excited for an Incredibles sequel with Brad Bird back.

Brad Bird back for The Incredibles is the ONLY way I'd ever want a sequel so this is GREAT news. I'll take Cars 3 for what it is and ignore it.

I'm not sure if I should be excited or not--more sequels. But I have wanted an Incredibles sequel. I just hope it doesn't end up being a disgrace like MU was to MI, but more like the TS trilogy.

"The Incredibles" with Brad Bird... should be great!

"Cars 3"... I may just wait until it comes on Disney Channel or ABC Family to watch it.

I just don't get the appeal of sequels. :/ I hope they're strong like Toy Story 2,3 and not unnecessary like MU and Cars 2.

Oh, come on. That's not fair, I loved MU!! :(

It's about freaking time, Pixar!! What was the holdup?!

Oh please, enough about the negativity about the Cars sequels! I'm so tired about it.

Although I wasn't wild about "The Incredibles", I'm still glad (for the sake of its fans) that it receives a sequel. As long as it's good (and for my taste, better than the original).

Not surprised but disappointed about the Cars 3 announcement. I had heard unofficially a while back it was happening.

I'm just glad we're finally getting the one sequel most of us have been craving. It almost makes up for it. Mixed emotions though for sure. Would have felt better if they had announced Incredibles 2 with an original movie.

Incredibles 2 - Brad Bird or GTFO

Cars 3... Pixar's new ultra low.

Incredibles 2? This is actually exciting news. Brad Bird - I say yes yes yes.

Cars 3 - I didn't make it through the first one. I hope Disney/Pixar put cars out to pasture after this.
Settling Soul mates? That is grim. And I've played Monopoly alone.

Brad Bird has always said he wouldn't do The Incredibles 2 without having great ideas, so hopefully that's a good sign. It's more suited for sequels anyway.

Cars 3  They need to stop.

I am beyond excited for The Incredibles 2! With Brad Bird directing, I just know it will be great! Cars 3 could go either way, but I'll try to keep an open mind.

I think it was wise for Pixar to announce The Incredibles 2 and Cars 3 together in one announcement. If it would have been just we're making Cars 3, the world right now would be talking very negatively about it and would be getting no good press about it and I have a feeling Disney knew this very well hence why they announced The Inredibles 2 and right now that's what people are happy over.
