Whatever happened to Dumbo 70th Anniversary Release?

Was it just delayed or outright cancelled? Still glad I held onto my Big Top Edition, everyone said it would be replaced soon but it's been the only release for 5 (going on 6) years now!

I can't believe Buzz is not on the spine. AND that's it's black instead of green/yellow. What crap! Here's my problem: Woody should by all accounts be on the spine, but why didn't they juts put Buzz on the spine of the first one since that was more "his" movie anyway inasmuch as 3 is more ...

Could somebody please link me to a post where the extras/ features on the DVD and the Diamond Blu Ray are compared? I'm having a hard time looking through the thread. I'm probably going to just hold onto my Platinum Edition until (if) I ever upgrade to Blu Ray. What say everyone about the new DVD th...

...you mean the stub you got torn off when you went to the movie? I'm not going to put the damn '???' emoticon because I hate it when people derail my threads to be rude... but I'm having a hard time thinking what anyone would give you for it.

I stand corrected. Somehow I did know that already but I can't justify it without trying to backtrack and say "Well yeah, but..." :) I think I assumed there was enough GB room anyway or I'm so used to redeeming it through itunes that I forgot, but I think I'll stop while I'm behind lol.

That's a really nice story! Fantasyland is where the majority of my favorite rides are too- it would be pretty special to be on the Dumbo ride at the highest point when the fireworks go off I imagine!

PS And I never said she had anything whatsoever to do with the success or failure of PatF, I think someone suggested that after my OP and the thread derailed from there. It was a minor aside I was making.

No, I'm not saying Oprah has anything to do with quality control, I think people are misinterpreting me. I'm saying she basically forced her hooks into the PatF production like she does on everything else she decides to take an interest in, whether it serves the quality of the product or not. I'm sa...

Oh I know, I'm not judging anyone (nor do I think it should be illegal), I'm saying it's so pointless for Disney to not just give it for free and save everyone the trouble. A separate disc is not even needed, it's usually just a nine-digit itunes code you redeem and that's it. Or not, in this case.

^ Agreed so much. There's only so much of Animaniacs you can take before the little snots start to annoy you, and you see all the "Dreamworks celebrity in-jokes" shoved into every episode.

The best DVDs I have I would say are the Batman movie anthology. I think the extras are exactly what the format should be utilized for, they talk in-depth not only about how the film was made, but also the reaction AFTER they came out. So few movies highlight that. The Lion King was sorely in need o...

Toy story 3 is my "must-have." I will also get Iron Man 2 and Inception, but those probably aren't essential in the long run.

5,500 currently I think. It's spread over about 530 albums. It does seem like too much, I think the limit I would cap myself on is if i hit over 24 GB of music. Anything more than that seems cumbersome.

I think the Golden years are over. I think Dick Cook was the last one keeping the good things we remember at Disney, and now that Iger has his stranglehold on the company the product will suffer. I mean, say whaty you will about PatF, but you must admit Oprah never should've been allowed 200 yards w...

Yeah, it's the idea of it. Why rip something illegally when Disney could have just provided DCs for free? It's pointless. I would not illegally rip the Toy Story movies anyway, but at the very least I would want DCs to match the others that I have in my itunes library. How hard is it for Disney to j...

Yep, i meant the ten minutes Katzenberg deleted that were actually fully animated (which, as anyone who knows how animation works knows, is the most horrifying concept imaginable). So it sounds like they are not to be found on this new release, darn.
