Song of the South
I am going to wait on Song on of the South. The prices on eBay are a lot for me to afford. I was recently trying to get a copy, but I was outbid several times. I think I'll wait. Right now, I am working on the original Jungle Book video release. I need to know when that video was released, the one t...

A question for starting my R2-R6 collection
My entire library of Disney videos and DVDs are Region 1 NTSC releases, now I want to start getting my hands on Region 2 PAL VHS tapes, along with R3, R4, R5 and R6 releases. I am not sure where to start. For VHS: I was considering getting the PAL edition of "The Jungle Book" from the 1990...

Something I noticed about "Cinderella"
Every time Cinderella was made available on home video in the US, the release date was always October 4.
October 4, 1988 (Walt Disney Classics)
October 4, 1995 (Masterpiece Collection)
October 4, 2005 (Platnium Edition)
Did anyone else notice this?

Re: tj77
Oh my, I have never seen that! The stock number is 31VS, so it's from 1981. I do have the original 1981 video of "Dumbo", BTW. The cover is just like any Disney cover from the early 1980s, but it's a simple image of Dumbo flying on a blue background. Thanks for showing me the Snow White Li...

Re: tj77
That Mary Poppins VHS you mentioned is from December 1980, that is one of the oldest out there, my Pete's Dragon copy is from Oct. 1980, although it's been issued for rental by Fotomat back in March 1980. The cover of "Mary Poppins" you have from 1980 is extremely rare because it was repla...

RyougaLolakie, that is the 1985 edition
It was repackaging for Disney's "Making Your Dreams Come True" promotion from Dec. 1, 1985 to Jan. 31, 1986. There were two previous covers, one in 1980 and another in 1983. Good find though.

Hardest Disney Film to Find Nowadays
Let's all make a list of Disney movies that are hard to find nowadays. I'll start some of the list "Superdad" (1973) The film was only released on video in 1985. "Smoke" (1970) Rare Disney TV film, scarce on video or DVD. The Original Uncut Version of "Fantasia" (1940) ...

Unfortunately, I have no pic. I'll try listing everything, it could get complicated, so I am going to make this list simple. I mostly collect the films. I will try to list my merchandise in an edit sometime after this post. * "Pete's Dragon" (1980, Original release, Beta) * "Escape to...

Your Oldest Video copy of a Disney film
The oldest copy of a Disney movie I have is "Pete's Dragon" on Beta, from late 1980. It appears to be printed around the time. I have several other editions from the 1980s as well.
What is the oldest video (or DVD if you don't have VHS, etc. tapes anymore) you own?
