i've watched pretty much everything i have but there are some things i've never watched with my full attention, just had on in the background. "the man who fell to earth" is the only one i've totally never gotten around to, which is funny because it's supposedly really good.

She apparently had a real hard childhood, the author, and never settled down and had kids or anything. in the books the family supposedly had a much tougher life than they had in the movie, although both were set in this brief time when families who weren't rich could afford domestic help... anyway,...

Yes! Best part of the movie! I love watching for the part where she waves her arm and her hand disappears with the split screen! man, got me wanting to see it again now. although i still got more yucks outta "that darn cat." i loaded a buncha hayley mills movies on my queue, like the one ...

i got a big kick outta the parent trap. my favorite scene's gotta be hayley mills' split-screen jam session. although the commentary track is funny -- they have mills and the director and they pretty much have forgotten everything! hard to blame them; it WAS forty-five years ago, after all. hayley m...

back then there was nothing better IMHO than watching zebra vs. ostrich in Swiss Family Robinson and Francis egging on the fighting Fritz and Ernst this is working out real good, SFR is totally on DVD. i put it on my netflix queue. along with "gus." not sure i'm gonna go as far as adding ...

i personally am really skeptical about the pink panther remake being any good. steve martin is okay but i personally think peter sellers was a genius without parallel. those are just shoes that cannot be filled!

it's funny because when i was a kid i'd watch wonderful world of disney (kinda dating myself, there) and i'd be let down if it was a live-action movie, all i wanted to see was animation. but now that i'm (nominally) grown-up the live-action stuff seems more engaging to me. you know what i dig about ...

i swear by netflix. i think they're amazing. although i think they're best-suited for people who have a taste for the offbeat, and yeah, my provider is right down the road so they usually get out to me pretty fast.

i actually agree about cat from outer space, that movie was kinda weak. i'm just finding as i get older i still get a kick out of the live-action movies that i don't really get from the animated features by and large anymore. i'll have to check out "gus," i've never seen it.

for five disks that seems like a pretty good bargain.

i'll probably just put a disk or two on my netflix queue, though. i remember the show being cool but i don't think i'd need 800 minutes of it...

is everyone aware that the 1965 that darn cat movie was investigated by the FBI? that makes it cooler, in my book.

Disney Live-Action Movies

Am i the only person in the world who likes disney's 60s and 70s live-action stuff better than their animation? i don't really get that much of a kick out of "aladdin" or any of that stuff, but i'll watch "the computer wore tennis shoes" or "that darn cat" pretty much a...

meteor is HILARIOUS. i love that movie, it's one of those so-bad-it's-good jobbers. that was a college special, we'd sit up late night watching that movie and laughing our patoots off.

i forgot martin landau was in it. he's a formidable talent no matter what he's in.
