Beauty and the Beast edited?

Post by mvealf »

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find the answer. According to this site's DVD review of Beauty and the Beast, there is a line of dialog has been altered from the original theatrical version, but it doesn't say which line, or what it was changed to. Does anyone know? Here's the quote:

"Dialogue remains crisp and clear, and Disney even edited an audio mistake on previous editions involving one of the Beast's lines. (Editor's Note: Well, if it was a mistake, which is debatable. Nonetheless, this has altered the original theatrical cut.)"

When the Beast comes back from sending Maurice away, he enters the tower cell and says "You wanna stay in the tower?" But in the original release, there was an audio flub so he sounds like he's stuttering, saying "You wan-wanna stay in the tower?"

Does this mean that they'll alter where it sounds like Aladdin says, "C'mon, good teenagers. Take off your clothes?"

Is this a rumor. I keep hearing this all the time.
When I watch the video Aladdin never said "C'mon, good teenagers. Take off your clothes?".
Maybe in the threatre he said that like a joke but the audience didn't like that.

Who knows they should have removed it from the DVD though.

I fear they may edite that line for the DVD as well... Maybe they will higher the volume, so there will be no chances of confusion... or even re-record it (which I hope won't be done).
I wonder if we will see the original "Arabian Nights" lyrics on the DVD... I know we won't, but I expect at least a mention of it on the commentary track.

Oh, and yes... Disney prepared special editions of "Aladdin" and "Pocahontas" to be released to IMAX theaters. But with the weak returns from "Beauty and the Beast" and "Aladdin", they decided to cancel the rereleases.
I also heard a rumor that "Tarzan" could be next to receive and IMAX treatment.

If Aladdin doesn't tell us to take off our clothes on the DVD, I will be very disappointed.

He doesn't say that, MMP. It just sounds like he says that. I've listened to it, and I definitely know that he says, "Take off and go" instead of "Take off your clothes", but the first part still sounds like "C'mon, good teenagers" to me. I can't get that "teenagers" to sound like "tiger" for some reason, and that is what he was supposed to say.

Would be nice if we get the take off clothes line, but I’m much more interested in getting the original Arabian nights lyrics. By the way if you download the MP3 from kazaa then it’s the original lyrics.

In the spanish version of Hercules there is a controvert line when Herc's fans get hysteric. It seems that one girl says: "VOY A FOLLARLE!!" (I'm fucking him), but she really says "VOY A DESMAYARME" (I'm swooning).
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.

OK, someone over did it. That is really bad for Disney to let their movies sound different then what they really said. Can't Disney at least make the words sound correctly. I prefer Luke to here the Aladdin DVD say "take off our clothes". :D

I actually am hoping for a Virtual Stripping Party as a bonus feature, in which adolescent viewers can watch Aladdin, Jasmine, and friends in an interactive how-to presentation for teenagers removing their clothes.
