Saw this on Gaf. Didn't realise it was Disney-related at first.

I believe this sums up my feelings on the matter. This should have been Make Mine Music Evolved, why slap Fantasia on there?

Honestly, they should be ashamed of putting the Fantasia name on this kind of crap. :glare:

Oh come on, you guys! Stop hating! I think this will be good. I mean, how bad could it be?

One minute later

:-o

:smack: Okay, I take that back! That was so Godawful! :glare: They can go ahead and flop it for all I care. :-x

In fact, whoever created this crap, is a total arrogant egotistical modernize idiot!

P.S. No offense on modern things.

Well, I will actually wait till we see an actual trailer and gameplay footage before I declare this the best or worst thing ever made. The teaser and the few comments about it BARELY explain what the game is about. It is all very vague to me, so I won't waste oxygen being offended by this.

However, I do find it odd that they have attached the Fantasia name to what seems to be a modern day rhythm game. To me at least, Fantasia is about taking classical compositions and creating an original story out of them based on the mood and feel of the piece. Why they attached it to modern day music I don't know.

But like I said, everything is too vague and confusing at this point for me to declare an official opinion. I think in the end it will be a rhythm game with more emphasis on creating visuals than actual rhythmic accuracy.

Wii U gets the shaft, as usual.

Edit: nevermind, this isnt anything to get jealous over, haha. I fail to see how this has anything to do with Fantasia at all. Its a logo slapped onto Just dance basically.

Based on the trailer and this article from Polygon, this looks to be a fun, kinetic game that requires a lot of creative movement. Actually, it reminds me of Figment's Melody Maker at the Imageworks "What If?" Labs in Epcot's Journey to Imagination. In the Melody Maker, where you position your hands and how you move them determine the melody of particular instruments.

I always saw Walt Disney's Fantasia as the exploration of music through different experiences, the primary one being animation. I can see why the game makers decided to call this game "Fantasia: Music Evolved," as it looks like it's generally following that direction. I doubt they intended to stomp on the legacy of 1940 film (or, by extension, the 1999 film). ;)

For now, I'll just wait until I have an opportunity to play this game before I pass judgment on it. I'm no gamer, but I would really like to try out a few songs. :)

Thoroughly surprised Disney chose a song with the hook "your sex takes me to paradise" to advertise their product. To children.

Or Third Eye Blind's Semi-Charmed Life for The Tigger Movie trailers?

Although I suppose they don't think kids would be smart enough to really get the lyrics.

It looks like it's more advertised towards teens judging by the songs and only being teens in the trailer. Disney is more than just kids entertainment and I'm glad that they're doing this and closing the " Disney is kids only " bridge. Though I do hope that they put classical music that was in the original movie in there.

It could work out really well or just make you look like a giant looser waving pretend magic in your living room.

It looks kinda cool but they should NOT have used the Fantasia name for this... There is no link to Fantasia whatsoever...

All I can say is... WHY?! I thought when I looked at the picture thumbnail of the trailer on YouTube, and when people say it's gonna have Bruno Mars and dubstep and etc., I thought they were just joking. But... NOOOOOOOOO! It is for real. This is a disgrace to Fantasia.

I mean I feel like they're targeting tweens, like the Just Dance series which had a Disney installment featuring teens in the trailers. I get what you're saying though. Either way, a very strange song to be attached to Disney.

 Yes, but I would agree they're a little more subtle to children than Bruno's song.

Shut Up and Drive can easily be taken literally, so I never really gave it much thought.

And as for Semi-Charmed Life, it's pretty blatant in a different way with its literal references to sex and drugs. But hey, it's catchy and bouncy, absolutely perfect for Tigger!

But I get what you're saying. :)

But yeah . . . I don't really get why the title Fantasia was plastered onto this game.

What does that have to do with Fantasia?

If at least they would have used modern music WITHOUT THE LYRICS then it would have been something.

As it is...no relationship with Fantasia at all.
