I feel like SW is a different situation--I don't feel like there is a perfect version of SW like there is with Cinderella, B&tB, Aladdin, etc. Tale of Terror is my favorite, but even it is a little lacking, at least in the part of the film after SW runs away; love the horror, but SW's character doesn't really get anything to do in the second half. I wouldn't have wanted her to become a "warrior," but they could've focused on the romance more maybe? I like the beginning and end of the animated film, and I enjoy Theron and Hemsworth in Snow White and the Huntsman, but overall neither one of those films completely do it for me. OUAT probably would have my second favorite version of SW after Tale of Terror, since the Queen, Snow, and Prince are all well-cast there. Come to think of it, that's the only time I've liked the whole take on Snow as some kind of leader and as someone who learned to survive in the woods alone before meeting the Dwarfs. I guess because a show gives the story so much breathing time to develop that kind of take, whereas it never works in the movie versions that have tried it.
It's a shame Rapunzel and Sleeping Beauty don't really have many versions... I've never seen a "perfect" version of those two stories either, although animated SB is a masterpiece as far as animation goes and Maleficent/Audley's performance is incredible.
What an interesting post! Ok, so Ever After is the best live-action Cinderella movie, because it is the most consistently entertaining, dramatic, with the best developed hero and villain and always fantastic costumes to look at. The 2015 is still my favorite live action film ever made, but it's not hard to see that knowing me. The 1950 is unbeatable to me because it is still the most emotional, I think you feel the most sad and then joyous for Ilene. I am surprised you like The Glass Slipper more than The Slipper and the Rose! One interesting thing is the screenwriter for The Glass Slipper was a woman, so that's probably why Cinderella had some added angry dimension and ran away at one point. And you like the 90s R+H Cinderella more than the Lesley Ann Warren one? Lesley is the best live action Cinderella actress to me because she almost breaks your heart!
Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, I am still so surprised you don't think the Disney animations are perfect! I mean Snow White still has a personality, very sweet and caring! Aurora...is fun with the animals! Haha. Snow White is considered by so many to be one of Disney's best masterpieces, including by me, but, you have never really liked it except the queen, so, I guess I am not surprised.

Favorite Snow White:
1937 classic Adriana Caselotti
Nothing else compares, imo.
Favorite Cinderella:
1950 classic Ilene Woods
1957 R&H Julie Andrews
1965 R&H Lesley Ann Warren
Nothing else compares, imo.
If only you would ever see Ever After...but even Drew Barrymore does not compare to Ilene and Lesley's portrayals.

The film told the story in a straight, classic way, and that is why I like it. Also, at least most people agree the 2015 remake is a masterpiece
visually. Some people say it is one of the most beautiful films they have ever seen.

If you want to see a good version of the Rapunzel Fairy tale then see the one made by Nippon animation for the TV show “Tales of the Brother Grimm”.
Hmm, I'll try to see if I can find that. I think somebody had said something about a Barbie Rapunzel in the live-action Tangled remake thread, but I never watched those Barbie movies growing up to know if they're any good.
I need to look that up, too! I have seen the Barbie Rapunzel...all I can really remember about it was it was not good.
