Same. I don't think it's perfect, but this movie just makes me happy, I love the music, I just get enjoyment from it.

Star was the best thing for the movie. It was a character made to sell toys and it did it well but I think that they even though that it would sell more. All the plush toys are also on sale.

Because the movie is a Flop. He may be popular between fans but the merchandise sales are as bad as the box office.
Also dolls are thought for children instead for collectors. Villains are not so popular between children. They are more popular between fans and the grown people who see the movie.
He might be beloved but nobody remember him.

I think the reason Encanto was such a banger with folks on TikTok (heck, around the world) is because the music was done by Lin Manuel Miranda, who had a runaway success with Hamilton (one of Broadway's most popular hit musicals of this era) and Moana.

PS, I swear if someone accuses this movie of being written/animated with AI one more time, I will scream.

I dont think noone really cared that it was written by Miranda, but what I personally loved about the Bruno song is how theatrical and multifaceted it is, you can act through various types of roles and its pretty catchy, so it was a matter of time that it blew up on Tiktok. All the other songs in the movie were carried by Brunos song, but still had personal conflicts like carrying the families pressure and having to be perfect.
But Wishs songs dont have that relatable or personal narrative that u can go "oh thats so relatable" or "so me" thing, as it Covers up generic overall things and everything Disney

I hate that disney will never try spain or the Al Andalus ever again due to this massive flop

Hoping that Pixar makes eventually a movie about spain (eventually)

No, I don't like those two songs, This Wish is a very generic princess song and Magnifico song is just okay but still I don't like it

Don't worry, Patricier. You can only expect genuine reactions from someone who is being genuine. I thought the film was very pretty even if it didn't look quite as nice I had hoped for; either way, I expect that style was really only for the 100th celebration and they'll go back to straight 3D from here. I still hope hand-drawn might eventually revitalize on streaming in future though. The music was about as good as Miranda's soundtracks...so, in other words, not very good, but not completely unlistenable.

Hopefully PIXAR gets folded into WDAS eventually, I wouldn't be interested in a cultural movie from a dudebro studio like that one. I imagine it would turn out like that time they tried to trademark the Day of the Dead holiday.

I think that if Villains were so popular between children Disney would have put more effort in making a franchise with products for kids. They release some dolls every few years and they are always the same characters. Sold as a complement for the Princesses dolls.
This new King Magnifico doll doesn't mean anything. Dolls take more than a year to develope so I'm sure that when the movie came out and they saw the flop that turned to be then it was too late to cancel all the merchandise.

When I was a child there was no merchandise of the villains for childs. Even Mattel didn't release dolls. Only costumes with masks for the barbie-kind dolls. I'm talking about 90s.
Even now if you search for villains clothes for kids they are really hard to find, at least the official ones.
Villains are more focussed on adult collectors. Kids love other kind of franchises like Disney Princesses or Cars.

Uh... I grew up in the '90s, so, again, this is a false statement and (lol) misinformation. My mother bought me plenty of shirts with Ursula and the other villains on them, among other things (playing cards, dolls, etc.); they were available to everyone like everything else Disney since they're family-oriented. Mattel notably had the Barbie Ursula. I'm sure they had the other villains, too, that's just the one I took the most notice of back then.

The Disney Store in comparison these days is pretty much only Disney princess nonsense which is why so many have closed, but in the '90s, they had shirts of almost every thing available from Dumbo to Pooh to the villains and so on. The '90s may have been when they first started marketing the villains together similar to the princesses? At least, there was quite a lot of "Divas" merchandise, in particular I had a bed shirt back then that had all the villainesses together and then another one of Cruella with some tag line I can't recall.
