So a couple of nitwits (I have another name to call them, but I’m not because I want to keep things PG here) decided to ruffle some feathers on Reddit and Twitter by pointing out references from the ending and claiming that because of the references, that means Wish is “canonically” a prequel to the Disney movies the references are made to. And because of said nitwits, people are up in arms. People these days… :|

Not sure how much would have changed if Star were human, other than the inclusion of a romantic subplot. But I’m pleased with the route they went.

First, he would have been an actual character and not just an emoji.

Second, there are other changes I think they should have made, like removing all the useless teens and the farting goat, and make the relationship between Asha and her grandfather stronger.

Cinemascore is useless. It literally means nothing anymore.

Cinemascore for Disney Animation and Pixar has always been useless because all films get A-, A, A+. Only Strange World got a B. So Cinemascore doesn't really say anything when it comes to animated films.

A romance with a sparkly star man???? Omg…

I understand backing away from romance for a little bit, but the last one was Frozen, right? 10 years ago. And that was a mega hit.

But was it supposed to be a romance or was it merely platonic in nature? To me, their relationship seems similar to that of Raya and human Sisu. I haven't seen any evidence indicating otherwise. In fact, we do know that in the one of the two versions where Star was going to have a human form, he's described as a Genie-type character and that type is not love interest material and in the other he was to be a young version of her dead grandfather.

It would have been interesting to see a human star and a romantic subplot…however, something like that has been done in Stardust. But regarding the end, it could have fitted, Asha finding love with star, star decides to stay on earth or even bolder; Asha decides to join star in the sky..

I just saw my second screening of Wish; it was more enjoyable this time because the Easter eggs were to be expected and not a surprise (but my friend a few times pointed them out...). I think it's really enjoyable. I still laughed at the same things I did last week, and still felt sad and excited.

When I saw it, I wasn’t even trying to find Easter Eggs or references. But I will say when I saw or heard any, they definitely put a smile on my face.

I wouldn’t call the teens “useless”, they were able to help Asha quite a bit during the course of the movie, not to mention adding on a sense of community and different points of you :-) “farting goat”? He didn’t even do that once! And I honestly don’t know how you could’ve made that relationship stronger when it really was the heart and anchor of the entire movie!

Anyways, here’s my out of theatre reaction: https://youtube.com/shorts/9YlRf7nAsmg? ... ztNjvrWW47

I wasn't necessarily going out of my way looking for Easter eggs the first time, but they took me out of the story for a second when they were on screen. I still don't like the bear, John, calling the deer "Bambi" (unless "Bambi" is the "Jason and Brittany" {Hercules reference*... popular names} of the deer world, it doesn't make sense, since that's not *the* Bambi...); and I don't love "Peter" at the end. I can't currently think of any other Easter eggs that I just didn't like. On paper, I don't love that the Teens are based on the dwarfs because it seems distracting, but in the film I think it's fine how the Teens turned out and I really do like them as characters.

*Not a Hercules reference in Wish! Just meaning that unless "Bambi" is a popular name in the deer world, this joke doesn't make sense except trying to make the audience laugh...you get my point! #IAmSleepDeprived

They should have made a romance because people have been asking for one for 10 years, even if it was a straight romance (Ariana is queer so some people assumed that maybe Disney would make her the first openly queer princess, for this way to not touch Elsa since she's so popular)

They did the villain return for popular demand, why not the romance
