It's the best song yet. I love it...
Especially the queen's part which is gorgeous!
Thanks for the link!

I like this song: it has an anthemic hook but has a Broadway ensemble quality to it, too - especially toward the end. Amaya's part does a good job of driving the story forward.

Iโ€™m kind of disappointed that Bazeema only has one solo line in the song (โ€œI was sweet but now Iโ€™m something elseโ€), and she doesnโ€™t really sound the way I was imagining she would, but I donโ€™t actually hate her voice.

That was awesome! While I really liked all the songs revealed so far, this is the best song in the movie. It's kind of like a heroic version of "The Mob Song" in a way.

According to Wikipedia, the movieโ€™s runtime is now 95 minutes, and when I followed the link, it took me to the British Board of Film Classification website which gives 95 minutes as the runtime. According to the ratings info (the movie is rated U, which is the British equivalent of a G rating), the movie has some โ€œinfrequent very mild bad language ('butt')โ€ in it as well as โ€œjokes about passing windโ€ and โ€œa character sneezing and accidentally drenching someone's biscuit in snotโ€. I honestly canโ€™t help but feel disappointed that the movie is gonna be like this. I really feel like sarcastically saying to the filmmakers โ€œWay to honor Waltโ€™s legacy, ladies and gentlemen!โ€

I couldn`t have said it better myself! I was perfectly pleased with Knowing What I Know Now. Definitively the best song in the movie, as it has a catchy and perfectly memorable melody.

Come on, dude. Don't you remember that Walt Disney inserted subtle butt joeks going back to the old Winnie the Pooh cartoon where Rabbit directed Pooh's butt as he was stuck in his entrance hole?

Just saw promotion of Disney's Wish during Celebrity Jeopardy that was themed as a Jeopardy riddle.

Oh since this week, the week before the release of Wish, is my birthday, I managed to celebrate it on a strong note by getting two autographs from Ariana DeBose when she did her interviews with Good Morning America (Monday) and Tamron Hall (today).

Oh, yesterday, on my birthday, a few of my gifts for my 27th birthday were merchandise from Disney's Wish.

4 pieces of merch on Wish that are all Star and one on King Magnifico.

Looks like this is the calm before the storm we've got coming in one week from today...

3 days if you count the Early Advance Screenings happening on Saturday and now on Sunday (https://d23.com/d23-event/d23-wish-screenings/).

I listened to At All Costs and I liked it. I thought it was the best song in the soundtrack, though I don't really understand its context because it sounds like a love duet between Asha and Magnifico?!?

Anyway, now that I've listened to all the songs, here is my ranking:
1. At All Costs
2. This Wish
3. This Wish (reprise)
4. Knowing What I Know Now
5. Welcome to Rosas
6. This Is The Thanks I Get?!
7. I'm a Star

I agree this one is for now the best song yet and it gave me strong "Ready as Ill ever be" vibes from the Tangled Series (but I like RAIEB wayyy more sounds more timeless)

The whole soundtrack is still not avaiable for my country but now Im really eager to listen to "At All cost"

I'm going to save the reprise for this Saturday when I see the movie, but surprised to see it's 2:45! Usually reprises are under a minute. Exciting!

Love At All Costs! It does sound like a love duet but I'm assuming there's a twist: maybe they're singing to the wishes? It's probably my favorite song yet.

I've liked the last few releases better than what we heard in the early weeks. I'd probably rank them as follows:

1. At All Costs
2. This Wish (just because I'm a sucker for an "I Want" song)
3. Knowing What I Know Now
4. I'm a Star (certain things about this song annoy me: "we're all shareholders" etc, but the hook reminds me of a Powerline song from "Goofy Movie" lol and I like what we've seen of the visuals)
5. Welcome to Rosas
6. This is the Thanks I Get

I calculated and the movie currently has 3.1/5 on Letterboxd. Might be a good indication of what to expect tomorrow when the embargo is lifted.

I can't wait to hear the other two songs tomorrow when the soundtrack releases; "At All Costs" sounds like a wonderful song among the other really good ones. I will say that to me, "This Is The Thanks I Get" is the weakest, but I still really enjoy it for what it is. I honestly think that it's a better villain song than "Mother Knows Best".

Reactions seem pretty polarizing: people seem to either love it or hate it. Disney is going through some backlash at the moment, so hard to tell if it's just easy to hate on.

DisneyFan09 wrote: โ†‘Tue Nov 14, 2023 8:10 am Really? As for me, I don`t dislike that kind of music, but the thing is that I don`t see them in the Disney Fairy Tale Universe. Such songs usually feels too slight to be in a Disney Universe and therefore not particularly suitable. However, it doesn`t mean that songs that aren`t Broadway shouldn`t be in Disney animated features. They just need to work within that universe.
I get what you mean and I agree. Well, to be honest, I've never seen High School Musical or any of its sequels and TV series, but I remember hearing part of the songs from it and other Disney Channel movies from the early 2000s in trailers or music videos and thinking all sounded the same. But if I listened to all the songs, maybe I would like some of them.

It reminded me of "Ready as I'll ever be" too. Also of "Savages" from Pocahontas, which is a preparing-for-battle kind of song as well. Personally, I don't love it, but it's better than I expected based on the snippets we had gotten.

I LOVE "At All Costs"! :D :D :D Easily my favorite song in the whole movie! Almost made me cry because of how beautiful it sounds ๐Ÿฅบ And Ariana DeBose and Chris Pine's singing ๐Ÿ‘Œ top-notch!

Here's how I'd rank the songs, like all of them but love only one, you guys already know what it is๐Ÿ˜‰:

1. At All Costs
2. This Wish
3. Knowing What I Know Now
4. A Wish Worth Making-I thought it would be a generic pop song but holy cow, I did not expect that it would be lovely ballad! A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
5. This Wish (Reprise)-Like that it put some of the score in the song, really makes you feel the intensity of the situation and I also love when you feel a character's despair or rise to power in a reprise.
6. This Is The Thanks I Get?!-Like that it is different from what you'd think a villain song should sound like but if I rank all of the villain songs, this would be the lowest.
7. Welcome to Rosas-Very catchy but it's too short and it feels like it's only there for expositioning reasons.
8. I'm A Star- Like what the song's message is about but it sounds so cringey and there are so many words cluttered in one line. Seriously, why put shareholder, closure, exitetory in a Disney song, it sounds like "A Place Called Slaughter Race" witch I actually like because it's making fun of what's happening but here, it's supposed to be taken seriously. How I'm I supposed to do that with those words there?! rotfl
Favorite Things Right Now:
1. Kpop Demon Hunters (Movie)
2. Superman (Movie)
3. Devil In Disguise by Marino (Song)
4. The Fantastic Four: First Steps (Movie)
5. Monster Hunter Rise (Video Game)

Interesting.

Raya and the Last Dragon and Pixarโ€™s Elemental have a 3.3/5 on Letterboxd and they have โ€œAโ€ CinemaScores.

Frozen 2 has a 3.1/5 on Letterboxd and that has an โ€œA-โ€œ CinemaScore.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi has a 3.0/5 and yet that one has an โ€œA CinemaScore.

And both Ralph Breaks The Internet and Strange World have a 2.9/5 on Letterboxd, however the former has an โ€œA-โ€œ while the latter has a โ€œBโ€ on CinemaScore.

Itโ€™ll be interesting to see the CinemaScore that Wish gets.

I feel like Disney wants those Early Advance Screenings on Saturday and Sunday (the latter for only US D23 members subbed to Disney+) to happen to see if they can ensure or try to make sure that Wishโ€™s CinemaScore is โ€œAโ€ so they can show that the audience likes it better than the critics and that could help benefit its legs at the box office.

Guess weโ€™ll just have to wait and see.
