I really like the new “Disney 100 Years of Music and Wonder” Collection which features a variety of musical Disney characters, even Professor Owl who famously introduced the old Disney Sing Along tapes:

https://www.shopdisney.com/disney100/?s ... option-127

I never imagined I would see Ariel and Big Al from the Country Bear Jamboree on the same piece of merchandise, but I’m glad I can now! haha

Mattel has also released a collector Tinker Bell doll which appears to be inspired by the version of the character that appears during the castle firework shows: https://www.amazon.com/Disney-Princess- ... B0B488NMB9

“The Bride,” a character from Disney’s Haunted Mansion has a new Limited Edition doll released today! I think she’s a real stunner! https://www.shopdisney.com/the-haunted- ... 76175.html

Any thoughts on the recently announced Cinderella and Tiana dolls from Mattel:

https://www.youloveit.com/dolls/3161-di ... attel.html

https://www.youloveit.com/dolls/3162-di ... attel.html

I like Tiana much better than Cindy, but I don’t think either are worth the $50 price tag. And I hate the little, plastic silver pieces on both of them.

I don't love the big bow on Cinderella's dress, and I don't love the silver pieces either. Otherwise I think the dolls are pretty!

Both dolls are nice and pretty, but my Cinderella affinity makes me want her doll more, plus, I like her big bow because it is a call back to her poofy bustle, her mice dress with bows, and that bows feel very "celebratory" which the doll is for. At $50, I may consider getting her.

ShopDisney has just dropped a new line of Disney princess dolls called “Disney Story Dolls.” They feature the Disney Princesses, Tinker Bell, Elsa, Anna, and Mirabel and they come with a doll, two outfits, a range of plastic toys and accessories, and the cardboard packaging itself doubles as a play set and activity page. They retail for $29.99, which is $10 more than the standard version which only comes with a doll.

I am just getting into doll collecting myself and I have to say I really like these doll sets. I’ve heard some people criticize the fabric quality and articulation of these dolls, but I love the utility of making the packaging a part of the play and I think the price point is pretty fair.

Omg! Wow! Those Disney Story Dolls are so cool! I agree the packaging forming playsets is a nice idea! The only thing I don't like is the doll clothes are not accurate to the films enough. But Belle comes with the book eating sheep! Aurora comes with the dream prince owl! Anna comes with a (too small) Sven! And Cinderella comes with Lucifer in addition to Gus! I don't know why she has a yellow bag. What is that green creature Tinker Bell comed with? I'm guessing it's from one of her dtv movies...

I love the little plastic play pieces, too! I love Lucifer, I love the owl dressed in Prince Philip’s coat. I love Prince Naveen as a frog in the correct scale! I don’t get why they chose the sheep for Belle out of all things, though, haha.

I also assumed Tink’s friend is from the DTV movies which I’ve never seen. I thought maybe it is a baby version of the tick tock croc?

I love Lucifer the character and that he is part of Cindy's toy haha. The sheep for Belle makes less sense than Lumiere and Chip or something but I love they went with it haha! I'm surprised Ariel does not have Sebastian in addition to Flounder. Naveen on the correct scale to come with Tiana is great! I thought that was a baby Tic Toc with Tink after seeing it closer, but the rest of the animals that come with the girls are of their original film's age, so...did Tic Toc show up as a baby in a Tinker Bell dtv?

By the way, my wish for Disney toys is they'd make doll-sized models of the princesses' castles and non-royal homes like Barbie Dream Houses. They'd be huge, but they would be great for play!

Disney100: Decades Collection 1980s Spotlights “Rescue Rangers,” “The Black Cauldron” and More
https://www.laughingplace.com/w/news/20 ... hopdisney/

I've been anticipating the news of what the 1980s collection would entail. I'm pleasantly shocked that TBC has something (although not having been to WDW in years, I'm hesitant to buy a Magic Band; I know the last TBC Magic Band from a year or 2 ago sold out instantly and sells for $100 on eBay. It's kind of an inconsistent product, though...it's neat to have concept art depicted, and it's nice for TBC to be represented at all (I feel bad TGMD was snubbed), but why is the Horned King on there twice? They should have either made it all the Horned King or have had another character instead of having him twice. Oh well, at least the film has something! (and anything with Gurgi on it makes me happy).

The Oliver & Dodger plushes are adorable.

I agree. Taran should be on that band instead of another Horned King!

The Rescue Rangers ears are really something. I'm not a Mickey ears person, they hurt my head when I try them, but those look great.

I don't understand why Rescue Rangers has two items this time, though, when DuckTales, Gummi Bears and/or Great Mouse Detective could have been represented instead.

90’s collection just dropped. Lots of love for the Disney Afternoon: A Goofy Movie Loungefly, BATB Minnie ears, Darkwing Duck plush, A Bug’s Life Magicband, and a Disney Afternoon pin with characters from Tailspin, the Gummi Bears, Darkwing Duck, and Chip n Dale: Rescue Rangers.

I do not have any Minnie ears but I love the BATB ears here. I am a sucker for any merch that uses the stained glass designs.

I’m happy to see the Bug’s Life magicband! That movie used to have a very strong presence in the American parks, but it’s slowly been pushed out. It just hasn’t remained as relevant when newer, more popular IPs can take its place. Just last week we learned it was losing its attraction at Animal Kingdom, for example. So it’s nice to see the movie still get a little attention with merchandise and I like the design of this Magicband.

Of course I’m disappointed by no Gargoyles representation, but not totally surprised. I can’t be too upset— Gargoyles probably gets more merch nowadays than Tailspin or the Gummi Bears anyway.

Up next is the 2000’s. In “Coming Soon,” you can see an image of a Louis Loungefly for the collection. So many under the radar but beloved titles they could choose from… since they did the Disney afternoon, I wonder if we will see any Disney Channel stuff in the next collection?

A new statue of Walt Disney is being installed at Epcot later this year and merch depicting the statue has already dropped. The statue is called “Walt the Dreamer”:

There's been a LOT of Rescue Rangers rep for this series, two separate items for the 80s and most of the cast still appear in that pin. Kind of unnecessary... but I love the DW plush! Kinda reminds me of the Disney Afternoon plushes from back in the day. Def want it.

Disney’s annual Holiday Princess doll will feature Tiana this year. YouLoveIt has a sneak peek: https://www.youloveit.com/dolls/3274-di ... -doll.html

I can’t wait to see the rest of her, I think this much is lovely. These dolls are usually more economical, around $50-60, I think, versus the Limited Edition Collector dolls which are 17 inches and cost $150.
