Thanks for sharing MickyMouseBoy. I was wondering if the DVD was worth getting. I think I'll save my money for other things.

Disney accused of 'evil bulldozer' slur

Heavy equipment maker Caterpillar has seen red over a new Disney film which it claims portrays its earthmovers as "evil".
The US engineering giant is attempting to block the release of George of the Jungle 2, claiming the film will damage its reputation.

The company claims the straight-to-video slapstick comedy portrays Caterpillar earthmovers as part of an "evil attacking army" bent on destroying the jungle.
You know, they're right. I was going to buy myself a new bulldozer to pop down to the shops in and do the school run with. But after seeing George of the Jungle 2 I changed my mind. That's at least one lost sale.

Somebody doesn't have a sense of humour. Plus it's been out in the UK for the past two months. Do our fragile little minds not count? We've been exposed to the evil for two whole months.

Looking forward to their follow on suit against Bob The Builder. This time for protraying Bulldozers as "too childlike and innocent".
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Just to follow up on this...
Animated-news reports:
Judge denies motion to stop release of George of the Jungle 2
A federal court has denied Caterpillar's request to halt Disney's release of George of the Jungle 2, calling their arguments "unpersuasive". Caterpillar charged trademark infringement because of scenes in the movie where the villains drive their equipment. They also claimed their reputation would be tarnished because of the association.
So I guess that is the end of that...

well i picked this one up the other day just to complete my collection, and was pleasantly suprised by the film. granted i wasn't expecting much, but the narrator and julie benz seriously cracked me up. it's like a wonderful world of disney type sequel, giving you one of those saturday afternoon matinee viewings you know? the kind you want to put in the middle of the afternoon when you really don't want to think. the making of special however really, really, REALLY annoyed me. the games sucked, and the deleted scenes, as always, are a plus. another big deal with this one, was the back of the chapter insert is a full size poster for lion king 1 1/2 AND in the coupon booklet coming with it there's a promo for "Walt Disney Pictures Presents Mickey - Donald - Goofy The Three Musketeers" and has a cool picture of them in musketeer garb raising their swords. i'll try and scan it if i get a chance, but since i don't have a scanner, i'll have to go to the computer lab. anyway, i just wanted to let people know not to shy away from this one completely. like 2099net said, if you enjoy cartoon humor, at least rent it and see what you think.........

p.s. Julie Benz is HOT!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting. I remember reading a while ago that Brendan Fraser wasn't going to play George in the sequel anyway. If I recall correctly he had been miserable doing all the dieting and exercising for the first movie and didn't want to do all of that again. So George was always gonna be recast. Fraser was gonna be playing a fictional version of himself in the sequel, who was now ' too fat' to play George. Fraser only wanted to do one cameo, the studio wanted his role to be bigger and eventually they just couldn't work it out. Probably also partly because they didn't want to pay him too much for essentially an expanded cameo.

I expected maybe this was happening since it had news posted. I was about to say, I don't think he looks the part these days, but I could see an approrach where that was part of the humor of it, I suppose?

It's hard to take older stories about Brendan as truth since there was an agenda in Hollywood to block him from roles after accusing that one big wig of molesting him, which ultimately cost him a lot of roles and his marriage.

I can believe what he's saying about Disney simply not having the money for the sequel. It was DTV and never was released in theaters, and one of their earlier DTV projects. Brendan had grown into a more recognizable name by then.
