Is there anything else left to watch???

Post by Papa Bear »

It kind of looks like they did not leave much there to watch, that is a lot of deleted scenes.

George of the Jungle 2

Post by Stitch »

I recently saw a trailer on one of my disney DVDs for the George of the Jungle sequel, but to my dismay all it showed was numerous clips from the first movie

I realize this a dtv release and will probably not star Brendan Fraser, but does anyone know what the story is about or who is playing the title role of George and if Tuki Tuki will be in it???

The tagline is "Watch Out For That Sequel". I understand what they were going for, but nonetheless, I'll heed their advice and make sure I don't come near it. ;)

Julie Benz

Julie was my favorite character in Taken on the Sci Fi Channel. I wonder who she plays. She is a great actress. I now actually want to see this movie.

Dropped Storyline for George 2

Post by Prince Adam »

I read somewhere over the Internet (maybe it was somewhere on this forum) that Brendan Frasier wouldn't star as George, but he would be strapped in a 500-pound "fat-suit" and the narrator would explain that he couldn't play George cuz he'd gained too much weight. Has this storyline been dropped? I just wondered why they would go through all that trouble to have him play a fat Brendan instead of just having him reprise his original role.
Actually probably for the better-we wouldn't want to see the 500-lb Frasier in a loincloth.

Hey, it can't be worst if Julie Benz is starring! She could read the phone book aloud and still make it mesmerising viewing!

It's not a theatrical release - it's DTV.

Julie Benz is perhaps best known as playing Darla in Angel/Buffy, although she has appeared in lots of other television shows, such as Steven Speilberg's Taken.

Here's a (not so good) image of the UK cover.

He specifically said "from this one" in his question.

The UK listing has a better synopsis of the plot:

Family comedy following the continuing adventures of George, King of the Jungle and his wife Ursula. George and Ursula now have a son, George Jr. whom they hope will follow in George Senior's footsteps. But the animals of the jungle are becoming upset as George now seems to spend more time with his family than he does with them. Ursula's mother arrives on the scene to try and persuade her to return to civilisation. Meanwhile George's gorilla brother, Ape, has taken up gambling in Las Vegas and calls on George for help when he runs up a large debt. While in Las Vegas the evil Lyle Van de Groot, working with Ursula's mother, hypnotises Ursula and makes her forget who George is. In the jungle a lion persuades the animals to follow him while George is away. George and Ape must return quickly, rescue Ursula and stop the lion and Lyle from taking over George's kingdom.

Julie, of course, plays George's wife Ursula!

right you are 2099net. i don't know if the june 24th releases might have had something more in the way of trailers. (by the way, i was thinking about buying SOUNDER....does anyone know if it is worth it. i know it has NO features, but i didn't get to see the film.)

I also read an article quoting Julie Benz as talking about she had just wrapped a film sequel to george of the jungle and said it was a lot of fun. at that time, though, she said she didn't know if it was going to theaters, direct to video, or stragiht to television.

we know where it's going, but if they were questioning theaters, maybe it will be better than we thought. i don't have too high of hopes though.

check it,

after some serious online searching, i found this trailer with actual people in it at disney's own site (go figure: the last place it normally is). follow the link and click watch trailer:

http://disneyvideos.disney.go.com/movie ... 07103.html

this is the real one with the real people, and yes, the narrator tells you almost the entire plot of the film in less than 50 seconds........ I'll still buy it, but it will be one that i watch way late at night when i'm kinda loopy. hopefully then it will be funny.

it has the same guy to play lyle, and the same girl to play ursula's mom, but no one else is the same. the boy in this who plays george's son is the son in The Rookie. and ursula, of course, is the only new cast member that i think will be any good.
