Funny thing I came across few years ago when I read The Armageddon Rag by George RR Martin:
You came by the dorm to pick up Maggie, and she introduced us. You noted that Bambi was kind of an unusual name, and asked me how I got it. So I told the story about how my parents had been in the movies watching Disney's Bambi, with my mother eight-and-a-half months pregnant. When suddenly the labor pains started and she had to rush to the hospital. I thought it was kind of a cute story. You stared at me as if I was some kind of a loon, and then told me I'd been really lucky. I walked right into it and asked why, and you said, 'Hell, they could have been watching Dumbo!'
There's also another reference for Sleeping Beauty:
Tracy suggested naming the baby Patricia, for Pat. I wouldn't hear of it. I knew I couldn't take it. I was the one came up with Aurora as a name. For the dawn. A new beginning and all that

Funny story, don´t know how Disney allowed this but Elephant on Parade talks about horror wondering spirits. That´s the actual subtitle of the movie and even is sung there. Plus, it has these gems on it:

-"Maybe they are Satan´s relatives",
-"I, that defied the Devil and his tail I plucked..."

I don´t get why or how it got to that point. I can understand that the song doesn´t translate well to Spanish since we don´t have that story that drunk people see pink elephants. But from that to call out Satan is way too far.
Wow! :o My only guess would be that they thought of those translations simply because the scene itself is so creepy.

Oh, I see DC Fan. Hm, yeah maybe they should have used their own music! And wow, talking about Satan in a family movie!

Farerb, those are cool little stories!

Just found out a few samples of the Mexican show using Disney music.

Here...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTxJjKeFEzA

-14:10 - 14:54 from Dumbo

-In the end 19:18 you can hear Peter Pan.

...by the way, HATE that song in particular. In the show they used it for very sad moments. In the Disney movie is not supposed to but I can´t understand why wouldn´t it work in any other way.

The video doesn't work for me. Not sure if other people have the same issue or not.

Let´s see if that one works. However, it won´t show the last song. That one is The Second Star to the Right. The song I despise the most. From Disney and in general.

Thank you, that version did work. It's strange they used Dumbo music for that witch sequence.

It's too bad it doesn't feature the ending because that's what I wanted to hear most based on your reaction. I'm actually a fan of The Second Star to the Right, but I actually think it's a very bittersweet and somber song, maybe even haunting at times, so I understand why they used it that way. Have you ever heard of Beyond the Laughing Sky, a deleted song from Alice in Wonderland? It was cut from the film so they reused the melody in Peter Pan and it became The Second Star to the Right.

They also used the "Dig Dig Dig" music from Snow White.

"Second Star to the Right" is one of my favorite Disney songs!!!

Yes. I remember it from the Extras on the Alice in Wonderland DVD/BD. Still, I much prefer this one as it doesn´t sound that depressing.

Here again, they used it in this scene were this kid leaves his home because the neighbors thought he was stealing.

...as a kid it got to me that much that I think that´s why I despise the song so much.

Oh yes, they used that song as well. An interesting medley of Disney songs.

I'm glad you like it so much!

Yes, I agree that Beyond the Laughing Sky doesn't sound as depressing. It has a melancholy element to it but it's more wistful than tragic like The Second Star to the Right. Especially based on how that scene goes after I was able to watch it with your link.

Wait, why is "Second Star to the Right" tragic? Am I missing something? Forgetting lyrics?
