Interesting! Hopefully, they will change Pocahontas' pose once and for all. I'm not saying that particular clipart of her is horendous, but enough is enough. Time to use different imagery, Disney!

They are both fine by me ! Though I would much prefer Mulan as Ping, or her outfit at the end of the movie when she is her true self. Has she ever appeared in the parks like that ?

Shame they removed Pocahontas' necklace though, considering the significance of it in the film.

I doubt there's going to be a new anthem. In Indonesia and Thailand, they've even released music videos covering the song "Hall of Fame" for the "Dream Big, Princess" campaign. I think that's just going to be it.

This thought //literally// just came to mind, but maybe they changed Pocahontas's necklace because it's blue, and Moana has a blue gem necklace in her movie (presumably also of family significance?)

So when Moana gets a meet and greet this Autumn (most likely), they'd want to distinguish the two "daughter of a chief" princesses further?

That's too bad...

That song is going to be featured in the new "Dream Big, Princess" CD coming later this month...

I think it was just a week or so ago I was saying in the Moana thread that the baby princesses in every new Disney movie seemed mostly like a long-term merchandise-related decision, and here we are.

I won't lie, Cinderella looks cute, but not much like the child version of her we see in the film. As for Belle, I hate the baby versions that keep the same clothes...like they've been wearing the same outfit for 18 years repeatedly.

It looks like Cinderella is wearing the same dress she wore as a young girl in the live-action film. But they didn't need to, she had two different blue gowns as a young girl in the original animated film...

But I do wonder why they now also have her "real" name be Ella and her nickname be Cinderella...but that's what her parents call her!

I'm not a fan of how the Belle and Ella are depicted in the covers of those books. They look too cutesy and really off-model. The Disney Animators doll sketches strike the right balance of keeping them young while retaining their looks.

I hate that too. I like to see them in different designs and color schemes rather than the same outfit over and over.

Actually, that's an idea I had for the musical version of Disney's Cinderella I'm working on.

Really? Their necklaces aren't that alike and the blues within them are reversed.

Thank you! Yea, I've got ideas for it, little parts of songs recorded on a sound recorder, it will be less animal character stuff and more human characters stuff, more on Cindy and the Prince's love, and I hope to pitch it to Disney. It won't happen for a long time, but who knows, someday my dream of it may come true. ;)

She looks like she's on her way to the mosque. Isn't Aladdin taking place in a pre-Islamic Middle east? It's fine to me if clothing is historically accurate but can we please have them look the way they did in the film a little? This might as well be any random background character in the movie.

It would be weird the other way around as well if Aurora for example had her arms exposed.

It takes place in 850 Iraq so it would have been newly Islamic. I'm not a fan of the costume at all though. I understand that the original is very revealing and can be difficult to wear in the parks, but they had so many other better options than this which looks nothing like her. The purple dress she wears as well as the purple outfit from the end of the film are more covered up, have skirts that make her more princessy, but still look like her. Her portrait in the Princess Hall is basically the purple dress but in blue so they should have used that design. Even her redesign would have worked better with the skirts and maybe the addition of her poofy sleeves.
