This is true. There has been much debate. Because studios like Disney always feel the need to change random stuff like that in their older films, no matter how pointless, trivial, and unnecessary those changes may seem, instead of leaving those movies as they were. On the Blu-Ray for The Lion King, they completely erased the effects animation of the clouds of Mufasa's ghost leaving Simba. WHY? WHAT WAS THE POINT OF DOING THAT? For that matter, what was the point of re-drawing a group of singing crocodiles you only see in a single brief shot? I'm not trying to be a smart-ass or to try and trick you into leaving (as that wouldn't be a very nice thing to do), but if I didn't like what was being discussed on a forum or if I were generally disinterested in it, I would either ignore the posts I didn't like or just not come on the forum any more. Being passionate about something is fine, but constant negativity isn't cool. All I know is that I've always been here out of a passion for Disney, like anybody else, only that passion is based on what Disney means to me from my perspective, and my negativity comes from today's Disney not being the way I believe it should be and the fact that a lot of the focus of this forum is always on this "corrupt New Age CGI Disney" we have to live with today. I need to check my 2002 dvd too, but I remember the line clearly. I did see O&Co. 3 times in the theater when it was re-released in 1996, maybe it was in the film print I heard it. Technical-wise, if it's on Blu-Ray, that's the best version unless it's the DNR-to-Death The Sword in the Stone (or The Smear in the Stone as TonyWDA dubbed it). But when you add in the nostalgia and the rose-colored glasses of "this isn't how it's supposed to look!", then it gets tricky. For one thing, you get crackpot claims that a 1994 VHS looks better than a 2009 DVD, or that because the colors aren't what you're used to on one format, that they must be wrong. Or that just because you might prefer the newer format, that you don't really care about the classics, and you shouldn't be allowed to talk about them on a forum like this. And therein lies the problem. This forum is not just for you, it is for everyone. Disney means different things to every single person. Calling the focus of this forum as "corrupt New Age CGI Disney" shows not only an ignorance for what this forum has been for the past twelve years (of which you've only been here for one; during that solitary year, you've left it twice only to return again), but also a willful ignorance towards what anyone else may think Disney means to them.
