ARTWORKS

Post by Disney Guru »

Hi,

I just checked out the artworks, and I can only say one thing. They were really cool and really neat. You have a lot of talent when it comes to making cover arts.

I made a back cover for the Cinderella DVD, and i'd like to extend a special thank you to the person who provided the scan to me. If you're interested in downloading it, please e-mail sanderson93@yahoo.ca or PM me on the forum. Also, could i get some feedback on either one? Positive, negative, suggestions...i'll take it! I aspire to making these look as good as they can be and for doing the originals and their films justice!

(I updated the Cinderella preview at the top)

Oh and one thing about the Cinderella, I wasn't sure if I should leave in the bar code or to try and edit it out. Editing it might make the rest of the image look bad. Too bad they decided to put it right on the image when they printed it

The title of this thread is a little misleading:

"Little Mermaid/Cinderella DVD BOTH AVAILABLE!"

Shouldn't that be "Little Mermaid/Cinderella Custom Covers" or something?

Just think this is an attention grabbing exercise is all.

I agree. It sounded like the TLM cover was leaked as well. Too bad....

I agree that these are very nice. I do not think that Disney will accept TLM cover art though.

Disney pulled that artwork very shortly after it was released and that cover is particularly hard to find nowadays. From my understanding this is due to a "so-called" subliminal picture within the castle towers. However, if you look at the main tower in the castle you should be able to tell a resemblance.

Yup and it was there. There was also rumors of a written message in the sea foam. Both were edited out on this custom DVD cover. No "x-rated" covers here.

And i apologise to everyoe about the misleading subject title. I fixed it and I thank you for letting me know

Yes, I'll join everyone else in saying these look very good. Good job! :)

What message was allegedly in the sea foam??

Well its just a rumor. Someone who was sellingt their on ebay mentioned a "sea foam message" in their item description so i inquired about it. Rumor has it that "U prick" is subliminally written in the sea foam. I can get you a picture if you like...I checked it out my self and there is a slight resemblance to the letters.

You've been engaging in censorship as well?

Shame on you! :headshake:

Free the phallic symbols! Let them flow with the foamy sea of subliminal messages!

(That was wrong on so many levels).

Very nice Cinderella art, RB! I really like example B the best - it's so bright and shiny! I can also help you out on the Sleeping Beauty cover art - if you still need a good scan! ;)

As I have said before, I love your Cover Arts, I havn't made any coustoms for ages. This inspires me to start making them again. I think that some of the ones that BVHE do, are so cheap looking and corny, and they should do a Walt Disney Black Diamond Classics DVD Collection. I would be the first to buy them.

:)

Same, I think the classics is the only line of videos that disney did that have real originality in the fresh artwork. I think a DVD line would do great!

Ryan, your Cinderella Cover looks great! I also agree with Choice B. It is brighter and I like the magic stream of stars or whatever it is from Fairy Godmother's wand. I'm also glad you were able to find a good scan of the back cover!
