Favorite Character, Scene, & Song: Frozen

Post by Disney's Divinity »

I was randomly looking through some old threads the other day, and I remembered these. These threads weren't done for all the films, so I thought I'd bring them back for the newest releases. :)

Character:
Scene:
Song:

I don't want to dominate, so I'll post my own thoughts after a few posts. :P

Character: Olaf. I found him to be quite endearing, actually.

Scene: "For the first time in forever". Simply a lovely scene

Song: "For the first time in forever". Because the song is brilliant.

Character: Elsa and Anna -- it changes on a daily basis. Forgive me if I go a bit personal for a moment, but Frozen came around when I was going through some emotional distress and I saw a lot of myself in Elsa, and I can actually credit her and her story arc for motivating and inspiring me to turn my life around, and it has been (mostly) a blast ever since I did. I didn't really give much attention to Anna until I went through something similar as she did (I guess we all have our Hanses). Looking back on it, a lot of Frozen thematically mirrored what was going on in my life in the last couple of years, so it's probably one of the reasons it resonated so much with me.

Scene: "Let It Go", duh :). Also, "Love Is an Open Door" because it's set to some amazing graphics, and the climax (snowstorm, Elsa breaking down over the news of Anna's "death", and Anna's sacrifice).

Song: "Let It Go" and "Love Is an Open Door". Anna's final part of "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" too.

I can identify myself to both, actually. I was going through a huge depression in 2013 (mostly because of my brother's suicide) and while I've suffered from mild depressions priorly, this one was quite huge. Elsa's characterization is a metaphor for angst and depression, but fortuntately she changes. Otherwise, I can identify myself with Anna for her good qualities. Pardon for repeating myself.

Character: Olaf, one of the best sidekicks the studio has ever created
Song: Let it Go
Scene: The film's climactic scene, with the storm and Anna rescuing Elsa

Character: It's very close between the sisters, but I think Anna would win for me. Which is really odd, considering Elsa is more like me and she has the best scenes. But I identify with Anna, too, in ways. I find her endearing, personally.
Song: "For the First Time in Forever." I also enjoy "Let It Go," but the main songs usually wear on me after many repeats. I love Kristen Bell's voice, and I like how they have Elsa/Anna singing from opposite sides of an event.
Scene: Nothing can top "Let It Go"'s scene. But besides that, my favorite scene would probably be "Love Is An Open Door." I thought the song was really creative. In a way, I was disappointed by Hans being the villain because I loved this scene so much, but I don't mind that he's a villain either since that's something different for Disney.

@Mooky: I think Elsa might have been my favorite princess if the film had been released while I was a teenager, since that would've fit me so much during that period. :P

Character: Anna

Scene: Aside from Let it Go, either the reprise of FTIF or the walk of both Anna and Kristoff towards each other on ice.

Song: Aside from Let it Go, probably For the First in Forever or Love is an Open Door
"In every age, Family is king,
and the bravest journeys, are never taken alone."

character: sven
scene: when anna unveils kristoff's new sleigh and sven drapes himself over it.
song: reindeers are better than people. so short and sweet, and i love that it gives sven a voice without making him a goofy talking animal sidekick.

Okidoke, here are mine !

Character: Elsa - Damaged and broken, she is such a fascinating character. Perhaps made even more so by the fact she doesn't have a lot of screen time. She's very much a figurehead for people who can feel as she does, but in different ways - she's been written wonderfully, and you can't help but feel for her.

Scene: It must be Let It Go - the initial lone, repressed figure walking up the side of the mountain, to the freeing of her soul by building her ice palace, and becoming herself. Its absolutely beautiful to see.

Song: Its a tie between Let It Go & Love Is An Open Door - Let It Go for the sheer capacity of how it can make you feel when you hear it and (attempt) to sing it - its a brilliant song. And I always love LIAOD - its brilliantly witty and truly makes me smile. Even though its technically a Princess performing a duet with a villain, I just love it.

Character: Hans or Kristoff. I just love Hans - both his design and his personality. Him being a manipulative villain was a stroke of genius. And Kristoff's voice - ah! (Love Jonathan Groff! To bad they did not give him any real songs.)
Song: For The First Time In Forever (and the reprise).
Scene: Love Is An Open Door.

(And when that is said - Elsa, her scenes and Let It Go... Classical Disney!)
Favorite Disney-movies: Snow White, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan, Tangled, Frozen, Pirates, Enchanted, Prince of Persia, Tron, Oz The Great and Powerful

Character: Elsa all the way! So stoic and regal and then so independent and fierce. (Behind her...Kristoff. He's such a cutey. I found Anna annoying.)

Scene; All of "Let it Go". Holy crap what an amazing scene, going from feeling so down to raising her spirits and the ice in a flurry of emotion fueled by such independence and gorgeously creating her castle and dress. (Behind that, when Anna saves Elsa.)

Song: "Let it Go". (Behind that, "For the First Time in Forever")

Character: Yep, absolutely Elsa.

Song: I guess it would be a tie between 'Let it go' and 'For the first time in Forever' reprise. After the huge disappointment I had felt with the music in Tangled, I was thankful that Frozen did a very good job with it musical numbers even they all felt a bit bunched in the first half of the film.

Scene: For the First time in Forever reprise. I also like the scene where Elsa does her small part in 'For the First time in Forever'
and Oaken's trading post - it does continue to make me laugh.
Settling Soul mates? That is grim. And I've played Monopoly alone.

Character: Anna (I love Elsa and can relate to her a lot, but overall, Anna is endearing, has a great heart, goes on an adventure of self-discovery, and she reminds me of myself)
Scene: every time Anna & Kristoff are together
Song: "For the First Time in Forever," "Love Is An Open Door," "Let It Go, " "Fixer Upper" (the CD literally never leaves my car!), and I do love DYWtBaS, and I reference it all the time...

Character: Anna.
Scene: Let It Go/Building the ice castle. I love that sequence so much. Also love the scene over the lake at the end.
Song: Let It Go with For the First Time in Forever in second.

Character: Elsa

Song: Let it Go ...moreso after release and listening to the song because events in my life made it resonate.

Scene: Either the Let it Go scene or one of the scenes with Anna/Kristoff and Olaf/Sven because the banter was great.
