I don't want to dominate, so I'll post my own thoughts after a few posts.

I can identify myself to both, actually. I was going through a huge depression in 2013 (mostly because of my brother's suicide) and while I've suffered from mild depressions priorly, this one was quite huge. Elsa's characterization is a metaphor for angst and depression, but fortuntately she changes. Otherwise, I can identify myself with Anna for her good qualities. Pardon for repeating myself.Mooky wrote: Forgive me if I go a bit personal for a moment, but Frozen came around when I was going through some emotional distress and I saw a lot of myself in Elsa, and I can actually credit her and her story arc for motivating and inspiring me to turn my life around, and it has been (mostly) a blast ever since I did. I didn't really give much attention to Anna until I went through something similar as she did (I guess we all have our Hanses). Looking back on it, a lot of Frozen thematically mirrored what was going on in my life in the last couple of years, so it's probably one of the reasons it resonated so much with me.
