A good video. I think Doug has improved his style and has become more analytical. He's not as blatant and annoying as he used to be. But it's a pity that he didn't liked "Quack Pack". I loved the first seventeen episodes, before the show became mediocre and lame afterwards.
But he still didn't reviewed all of the Disney series. He forgot the ones of "The Little Mermaid", "Jungle Cubs" and "101 Dalmatians".
I do agree with him that the "Aladdin" show was a mixed bag, though, but for different reasons. While I liked some of the episodes, though, I thought many of the episodes lacked the charm and were darker and grimmer than the movie. Also, I detested Aladdin and Jasmine in this series. Aladdin was likeable in the movies, but in the series he was a arrogant jerk at times. And Jasmine was mainly just a brat.
Otherwise, thanks for sharing.

The series does depict Aladdin as a bit neanderthal, unlike in the film where he's still hands-down the most likable, relatable male protagonist they've had. I can't agree on Jasmine though, because I think she's greatly improved in the series; she's a brat in the movie. I wonder if it's one of those unfortunate cases where the writers strengthen the female character byway of making the male character a chauvinist. I still love the series regardless.
I think the only other movie-based TV series they had that I liked was Hercules.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

Seriously, what is it about this guy that makes people think his views on cartoons and movies matter more than anyone elses? He's truly just another random person on the internet with his own opinions, not some kind of celebrity. I always just think for myself on what I like and don't like, and just leave him to believe what he will.
That said, I always enjoyed the heck out of Bonkers, even if he says that he hates it.

It's because he's gained a certain status, so therefore his followers are ought to give him importance. I don't give him so much weight, though I have agreed with him at some points. I prefer Nostalgia Chicks' opinions (though I've disagreed with her as well).2Disney4Ever wrote:Seriously, what is it about this guy that makes people think his views on cartoons and movies matter more than anyone elses? Me too. And many times his reasons for hating certain series or movies are vague. That said, I always enjoyed the heck out of Bonkers, even if he says that he hates it.
Okay. Then we'll have to agree to disagree. I don't hate Jasmine, but I do think she's one of the weakest female leads from the 90's lead. Aside from her sultry voice, there's really not much to her. She's quite personality-deprived compared to Ariel, Belle, Esmeralda, Megara, Mulan, Jane and even Pocahontas (who's considered to be dull and boring by many, which I disagree. I understand why people think so, but I do think Pocahontas' strenght and dignity gives her some personality, in my opinion). Although I shall give Jasmine credit for having some moments where she shows emphaty and consideration towards others. And yes, she does take action in the series, though I still find her somewhat a brat. Her impersonation of a soldier is foreshadowing Mulan's impersonation.Disney's Divinity wrote:I can't agree on Jasmine though, because I think she's greatly improved in the series; she's a brat in the movie.
