We could see if we understand each other later, but I think there's an easy way to get each other now because we might forget when I come over. I would just ask "Where do you think, for example, Snow White takes place: an imaginary German influenced country, a kingdom with Germany's country, or Germany itself?"
For Snow white example, judging by the outfit, It seems to be more of Renaissance era Germany. And at that time Germany was part of the Holy Roman Empire. Within the holy roman empire were smaller separate kingdoms. I imagine Snow White's is part of one of those smaller lesser kingdoms but a fictional one.

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this but here's our official first "Frozen"-themed game featuring Olaf and Sven.

It's interesting to observe the audience reaction to the teaser. They laughed and aww-ed at all the right places. Although they didn't seem to realize the teaser was for an upcoming movie; they thought it was just another Pixar short in front of the film.

That's what I gathered from watching Monsters U today also.

They should have made it more clear.
Something like "And now a look at Walt Disney Animation Studios latest film Frozen, from the people who brought you Tangled and Wreck-It-Ralph"

In case this has been a rumor: Anna and Elsa will definitely both be inducted into the Disney Princess line.

Thanks Patrick for all the info you shared in this and in other threads.

It's odd that Disney would wait so long to induct them into the line. For Merida and Rapunzel, it was only a period of 10 months between the theatrical premiere of their films and their coronations whereas now with Anna/Elsa it will be 15 months at best.

Ummmmmm....2015?! :| :| Yeah, definitely false. Why would Disney wait 2 years to induct 2 characters? It took Rapunzel and Merida a year. I would say they'll join around the summer or the fall.

Yeah, sorry guys. However, I'd keep in mind that the fiscal year starts in February and "Spring 15" would start then as well. I have no dates or anything, and I'm sure they don't even exist, but it would be possible to have it in February depending on whatever they're planning. Considering the weather we've been having, February would be mighty cold for a Frozen coronation. :) That piece is entirely my speculation, though.

Yea Snow White is Renaissance. You know, I think we can agree all of them are fictional kingdoms just with the culture, clothes, and architecture of their origins, but Beauty and the Beast f-ed it up a little bit. I will still think Beauty and the Beast is a fictional kingdom within France...that somehow manages to be okay without them ever seeing their monarch. :/

They probably just don't want to flood the Princess line so quickly, so they've decided to spread it out a little. Makes sense, and it's a good move in my opinion. It's possible they don't have any other princess movies coming up for the next few years after Frozen, so they want to keep the princess hype up even without any new characters.

Is it possible that Disney may not release the movie on DVD/BD until Christmas 2014? That often happens with Christmas-themed movies, but of course "Frozen" doesn't explicitly take place during Christmas. But will a movie called "Frozen" sell with Easter baskets?

I'm just going to throw this one out there. What if it bombs horribly?

:)

Is Disney going to add princesses to their franchise from a movie that will be forgotten? I know it's very unlikely, but the thought of Anna and Elsa becoming the next Kida and Eilonwy is somehow VERY funny to me. Especially with all these elaborate coronation ceremonies Disney is doing these days. rotfl

It won't. The only other big blockbuster movies that open in November close to Thanksgiving Break are the Thor and Hunger Games sequel. Plus, Frozen is all alone with family movies for their target audience that weekend.

Oh I know it's unlikely. VERY unlikely because the only animated competition is that Turkey film (forgot the title, because they changed it). And the critics are probably dying to tear that to shreds and use all kinds of horrible 'turkey puns' in their headlines, so a huge collection of rotten reviews is assured. That thing isn't gonna fly (see? It's that easy). So frozen's field is literally wide open.

But still, at the Box Office, anything is possible.

Too late for that, I think.

I'm expecting them to get to a point where they finally drop Jasmine, Mulan and Pocahontas, and any of the other perceived dead weight. (Don't worry, all your fav white princesses will still be there. :P )
