I'm afraid not. At least, not that I'm aware of.

Well, it's not much but...
Steve Hulett wrote:Today at the Hat Building, the lighting department was cranking up for a concentrated production schedule on Frozen:

"We worked on a test sequence to see how the characters will look, how the environment [lots of snow!] looks. It's coming right along. The picture gets released in November, so we'll be busy..."

Another staffer said the studio is doing the project with a relatively lean crew; the staffer also thinks that more hires will be made later in the year to meet the full-steam-ahead production schedule.

Steve Hulett wrote:There's not much to report except that animators are now getting two sequences of Frozen to animate, and story tweaks continue.

"They're fine-tuning the first act, getting character relationships set up right and getting the characters as empathetic as possible. Acts two and three are pretty well together. They just want to make sure everytning is set up so that it pays off ...

I saw some rough animation on a "comedy relief" character who looks as though he's going to be hysterically funny. There's lot of work to do, and as one artist said to me, for they next nine or ten months everybody will be "very focused."

Sounds like typical Disney business. Poor animators will be working overtime by October.

God!! Why are they keeping this movie so hidden!!! I don't think a teaser trailer like the one of Rapunzel with the tower with a couple of lines will kill them!!! =(

Uhm.. I don't think they could even if they wanted to at this point. As you read in Sotiris' link:

They're doing tests on characters and environments. It'll be a while before we see teaser or a trailer. We'll just have to be patient and live off of snippets of news like this. And you know.... tweets... and stuff...

Yes, I know that =( it's just I thought they had the film more advanced than that, with final shots and stuff. Well.... here we'll be as always, waiting for the miracle xD

In the behind the scenes for Brave they talked about this advanced simulation they had in place for snow that barely got used. Think its the same system? Its gotta be, right? I mean, why let it go to waste?

Well, Disney and Pixar are different studios, I believe they have their own resources for their films.
Maybe they give feedback to each other, since "Disney+Pixar" are kind of from the same family, but GIVE their own achievements... I don't think so, Disney will have a team in charge of the snow like the one they had for Rapunzel's hair

I'm pretty sure tech is shared between the two (see Rapunzel / Merida's hair)

Yeah, its hard to look at movies like Meet the Robinsons and Bolt and not think they don't share resources. They seem to use the same techniques for humans.

I'm not sure about the Rapunzel/Merida hair though, being so vastly different in texure and vulume Im not sure how well they could have adapted that long straight hair in to something shorter curlier with a lot of bounce to it. And ends up looking more like an oil painting versus silk.

It's fan-art. He drew it himself. Here it is in full. It's quite nice I might add.

Compare Mother Gother - Merida
Queen Elinor - Rapunzel.

There are definitely similarities and in the end, why wouldn't they share resources? It would be counter-productive not to so.

That's a fan art I made a few days ago =)
Here's the link

EDIT: Oh, Ok, I didn't notice Sotiris psot the link! Thanks! =)

Returning to the Disney/Pixar computer programs, Rapunzel and Merida doesn't share the same hair simulation system. While Rapunzel was in production, I was interested in all the process (the same with Brave), and both studios had their own method.

In Tangled, when Rapunzel wasn't walking or running, her hair was simulating in 3 ways, from her head to the floor was 100% simulation; from the floor to a few more lenght was less simulation (to avoid rendering problems i think) and the hair that wasn't supposed to move was frozen (no simulation).

Merida has a lot of layers, and has a different simulation process. I don't know where to find the videos right now, but I will post them =)

P.D: Lnds500, even if Rapunzel/Elinor and Merida/Gothel have the "same" hairstyle, it doesn't mean the way they animated it it's the same. In fact, Merida's hair simulation is way better than Gothel's.
Gothel's hair isn't as complex as Merida's, don't compare pictures, compare videos and you'll see it's way too different.

P.D.2: As always, forgive my bad english! I hope it's all understandable

You can't do that with a picture though.

spoiler tags still would be welcoming. this forum sucks in terms of functions it provides

Such as the poll thing not working since the whole Google Hell thing occurred. Perhaps posting this suggestion in the Feedback section might be a good idea or email Luke. He's very busy now a days since I think he might be the only one doing the reviews though hopefully I'm wrong.

Perhaps for the time being post a link to the image and type spoiler image below, click at your own risk or something to that effect.
