But anyone can make a fake poster, post the Disney Frozen logo on it & call it official. Also, look at my previous post, the 2 pics of Ralph, the one in January 2012 & May 2012. Besides his cloths changing colors, his design wasn't really different.qindarka wrote:Because they were passed of as real by many websites and Disney doesn't want any confusion?
The fanart was quite obviously made by a fan and while were only passed off as official on some fansites. Not an equivalent situation at all.
And of course, Disney doesn't have a legal right to remove fanart whereas they do for fake posters that were purported as 'official'.
I'm sure the general design is real, but the CG models don't look final to me.

Well, I still say Anna is not a blonde. And this confirms it:Kyle wrote:And yeah, either your color blind or need to adjust your monitor, she doesn't look like a red head to me.
Her hair color appears to be more what gingers actually look like instead of what animation makes them look like. (think Ariel's insane and unrealistic hair color)qindarka wrote:More info on concept art:
Frozen In Time Concept Art
We got a preview of Disney 23 and got a glimpse and the designs for Anna and Elsa.
Some noticeable changes from the concept art released earlier this year show that instead of a blonde, Anna is now a redhead (orange red, not Ariel red) and her design has much sharper features in the face and no longer looks (too much) like Rapunzel.

Considering Ariel is a mythological creature, I think an unrealistic hair color was the least of their worries.
Besides, I’m glad that they went with what was more appealing visually than an ugly (but realistic) color.
So Anna’s hair has changed. That doesn’t make her any less of an <strike>Rapunzel</strike>Ariel clone.

I'm not saying she isn't. Because she very clearly is her clone.Disney's Divinity wrote:Considering Ariel is a mythological creature, I think an unrealistic hair color was the least of their worries.Besides, I’m glad that they went with what was more appealing visually than an ugly (but realistic) color.

Isn't Ariel's hair the colour it is due to the shadows that the underwater world created? She was supposed to be blonde, but it didn't work with shading underwater (and it was too similar to Splash), so the Ariel-red was created instead.
Or was just her green fin colour created for her ? I've forgotten ... !

I believe they first changed Ariel from blonde to red-haired, because in the darker scenes, the dark blonde was very ugly, and of course, there was Splash!, so, after decided she'll be red-haired, they choose the green for her mermaid tail (green is the complementary color to red) so, I think I've heard on the dvd extras that the green they used was a special one, a mixure of inks that was called "green Ariel".
I never implied that they were FAKE. They're obviously legit, as has been confirmed by an artist at the studio. But there's nothing to say those are the final designs. Those renders were done quite a while ago if they were shown at D23. Lots of time to make changes. Like I said, I'm sure they're close, but I wouldn't be surprised to see small changes like the tighter facial features cited above.DisneyEra wrote:Then why was Disney having Websites remove the images if they were fake? I've seen RodrigoYborra pic of Anna on other websites, some even thinking it's official concept art, but Disney hasn't had that removed.SWillie! wrote: What makes you so sure those were the final designs? They were shown back in August at D23, there's been plenty of time since then to make changes. I think they're probably very very close, but I don't think Disney has "admit" anything. Those aren't the designs/poses/renderings/whatever that they intended us to see.

your very right, i remember hearing about the tangled animators trying so hard to match Glen Keane's designs with their 3d models, its just now the same lol but yeah every time i watch a cgi movie all i can think of is the crossed eyes haha both rapunzel and gothel had em pretty bad lol I jst have to accept it as the 'style' lolSotiris wrote:Well, there does seem to be a difficulty in translating hand-drawn designs and art into CG models. As a redhead, that's offensive. Besides, what about Giselle or Cinderella or Anita or Hercules or Quasimodo or even Jenny? They're all gingers, yet look much more realistic, because their hair isn't primary colour red. And it's still visually appealing.Disney's Divinity wrote:Considering Ariel is a mythological creature, I think an unrealistic hair color was the least of their worries.Besides, I’m glad that they went with what was more appealing visually than an ugly (but realistic) color.
Anyway, qindarka, you think that the posters are complete fanart? The renders and everything? Because that would be an extremely talented fan. It seems much more likely that they are official but incomplete renders, and/or they are previous designs that have since received minor alterations.

Red is a nicer color to me than orange, I apologize if that's offensive. Besides, orange would never be as striking as red, especially when countered with purple and green. That's why it's no surprise that I find Ariel more vibrant than any of the examples you gave.Linden wrote:As a redhead, that's offensive.
I'm fine with orange-haired characters, but orange is not a "pretty" color to me, personally.
