Don't cut yourself short, Rodrigo. They're quite good. Your drawing of Anna is the best fan-art I've found of this character.
Definitely agreed. Have you applied to Disney's Talent Development program for VisDev?

Agreed, your drawings are outstanding. If only Disney's dvd and merchandise artwork looked that good.

We will be getting more concept art very soon in the new issue of D23 magazine, which will be on sale on february 12th! From now on the issue will also be available at newsstands and can be ordered seperately online and other places! So YAY!!!!!

“Frozen in Time” includes concept art from the upcoming film Frozen, due in theaters this November. Walt Disney Animation Studios brings an ice-covered world to life as Anna (voiced by Kristen Bell) seeks to reverse a curse put on her kingdom by a cold-hearted snow queen (voiced by Idina Menzel), who also happens to be her sister.

They certainly are on a role with female Disney baddies at the moment ... I know we don't know how 'bad' she will be, but still.

This seems about right. Last February Disney released new images for Wreck-it Ralph, ones that showed the game-worlds of sugar rush & hero's duty & of Ralph sitting on bricks. I believe Ralph comes out on DVD here in the states in early march. Would be great if a teaser trailer for Frozen is attached, like they did for Tangled when The Princess & the Frog DVD came out 3 years ago. Hopefully new character art will be shown, we'll see!

I feel like Disney does evil women really well. All of their villainesses are really well done. They do have a lot of great male villains but they do have some clunkers(McLeach, Sykes, Rourke, Clayton). I think their female baddies are always on the money. That said I would like to see Elsa be more in the gray area. With Gothel she had a little bit of grayness to her. I hope they go full blast with Elsa.

That's what I mean; female villains seem to be Disney's staple...and I guess with all their gender-neutral wants at the moment, am surprised that they picked another villainess.

Well, we can also put the fault at the Brothers Grimm and other writers of classic tales. A lot of their female antagonists were from the adaptations of classic stories and books, though Disney has their fair share of original female villains, too (The Emperor's New Groove, Lady and the Tramp).

Though, interesting enough, Disney's animated features from The Rescuers Down Under to Dinosaur all had male villains.

Talking about male and female, the greatest and weirdest surprise is that Disney, on one hand, is obsessed by the seduction of male audience, erasing any girly mention in their titles, but on the other hand, they offer us with that new movie, not only one but two charismatic heroines ! No Kristoff heroic snowboard move will hide the real core of Frozen : princess and queen matters, sisters problems, girly emotions, and fairy tale magic snow dust at every turn !!! MALE AUDIENCE IS BEING TRICKED ! And i'm loving it.

Hey,let me tell you its not going to be a chick filk and you know it because in an average Disney Princess movie you find a lot of action or at least a little bit of peril.Maybe for their future princess movies they might change the title to draw in a male crowd but in my opinion it just hads a sorta of charm in a weird sorta of way.The character I am most curious about is Elsa who I hope is a great character who wins the audience's heart.I think she will be an antivillain manipulated by someone and I think that someone is that Prince Han character.

Elsa's villainess don't need excuses or justification of manipulation. Her dark side can rise just because of fear, sadness and cold solitude of rejection. Much more interesting and brilliantly ambiguous to me. I'm thinking about someone victim of spleen or depression who turns bitter and cold (or look at Megara, or the Beast)... Anyway, when i say that movie is going be girly, it includes all the fantastic drama, poetic and emotional dimension ! It was a compliment, i'm so happy with it !!!!! Sleeping Beauty has six girls in it , best movie ever ;-) PS : anyway, even Buck´s Manly and Muscled Tarzan was full of emotion, so i'm confident.

I know but you have a good point about Sleeping Beauty really having some good female characters.People just dismiss it because it shows Aurora snoozing away but if you think about the main characters could actually be the fairies since most of the movie is through their actions. In a way they are not like most disney heroines because they are older women and kinda of plain but they are very funny and interesting characters.

I just think that maybe Frozen will be a good feminine movie that focuses on the issue of sisterhood.I still think the movie is kinda of like Wicked meets the Snow Queen although I think there is more Wicked elements from the information that is given.I do think emotion is needed in a Disney movie because you want characters that you connect and root for.

I know I love the three good fairies because they are such unconventional Disney leads. They are fun characters and very strong. I feel like they need more recognition.

The three good fairies I think are entertaining because they remind people of probably auntie types of people.Plus they just bounce off each other.I kinda of like Merryweather the best because she just speaks her mind and doesn't care what anyone thinks. That girl has a lot of sass to her.

Linden, qindarka, Sotiris, SWillie! and PatrickvD, thanks for your comments!! I really appreciate it. SWillie! I didn't applied for any Disney Program yet, I'm not ready, but for sure I will do it in a few years!! =D

Another fan art piece!! http://davidpavonart.blogspot.com.es/20 ... l?spref=fb

I am intruiged to see this I loved Tangled what a great film however I was really annoyed that they went with the name Tangled and didn't do the old Disney style of animation for it and the same applies to Frozen! I would love both films and consider them traditional Disney films if they were called Rapunzel and The Snow Queen as they should be!
