The Company has also licensed the rights to produce and distribute feature films for certain other Marvel properties including Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four, and X-Men to third-party studios. Under these licensing arrangements, the third-party studio incurs the cost to produce and distribute the films and pays the Company a licensing fee.

During the fourth quarter of fiscal 2011, the Company completed a two-way transaction to simplify our relationship with Sony Pictures. In this transaction, the Company purchased Sony Pictures participation in Spider-Man merchandising, while at the same time, Sony Pictures purchased from the Company our participation in Spider-Man films. This transaction will allow the Company to control and fully benefit from all Spider-Man merchandising activity, while Sony Pictures will continue to produce and distribute Spider-Man films.

jpanimation wrote:Looks terrible. Seriously, Peter is a nerd with a campy sense of humor, not an emo-douche bag (his jokes came across as little more aggressive, or douchey in the trailer). The Lizard also shouldn’t look like a goomba from that crappy live-action Super Mario Bros. movie. I also don’t like the tone of the movie, or at least the tone the trailer is giving off (painting the spidey symbol on the wall just reminds me of that crappy Daredevil movie). It’ll be a rent.

As crazy as it is, I’m more looking forward to the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series then this. Which is weird, because nothing I’ve heard about that show has even hinted at it being good.
I have to fully agree with you. Everything I've seen so far makes it feel more like "Twilight" and less like "Spider-Man." No thank you!

Average Rating: 7.3/10

The percentage of positive means nothing. You have to look at the average rating to really get an idea of what critics think. Look at Toy Story 3 and How to Train Your Dragon. One has 99% fresh and the other has 98% fresh, so you would assume that critics felt both movies were equally good...right? Not quite, as a closer look reveals one had an average rating of 8.8/10 while the other had an average rating of 7.9/10. Or how about Bolt and The Princess and the Frog? The former has 88% positive with a 7.2/10 average while the later has an 84% positive with an 7.3/10 average. Does that even make sense to you? This is just two examples, as sometimes the gap is even larger. High percentage of positive means nothing. Then again, all this is moot, since I don't give a shit what critics think.

I think the trailers madethe movie look good. He still has a little camp in at least two scenes ive seen. And the overall feel seems pretty amazing.

I've mentioned this on the Brave thread and I will say it again here. It's not the rating that matters, but what the critics are saying in their reviews.
