I got up a little after 6 AM with my family this morning. We all decided to head out to the Target store by the local mall area (My sister wanted to go into Kohls afterwards). When we got there, the Black Friday DVD section was (naturally) swarmed with people. Much to my relief though, There was an identical section of Black Friday DVDs, with the same titles at the same prices not too far off.

In terms of the selection this year, I honestly did not see a whole lot I was interested in as opposed to last year. Many of the titles that were on sale were repeats from previous years such as Knocked Up, The Hangover, and the Dr. Seuss DVDs. I did manage to get Jackie Brown on Blu-Ray (which I hear is an underrated movie. Pulp Fiction, as I guessed, was almost sold out.) as well as the first seasons Seinfeld and Mad Men (I am curious to try this show out) on DVD.

After going to Kohls, where I got a new blanket for my bed, We then went to Wal-Mart, which was not as horrible as Target.. They had a section of Blu-Rays and DVDs on sale (with the colored stickers that say "PROMO" so you have to read the flyer to indicate how much the movie costs). I managed to find two Blu-Ray movies for 5.00 each: The Neverending Story (which I have not seen in ages) and The Good the Bad and the Ugly (Now I have all three of The Man With No Name movies). This concludes my Black Friday shopping spree.

Wonder how long those people have been there! I figured that was just one nut who got on CNN last Monday. I just headed home after that.
Yesterday, I was reading a thread about Black Friday craziness at another forum I'm a member of and one member posted a picture their friend, who works at Best Buy, took of what looks like a dozen tents along the front of Best Buy. The member said the tents closer to the entrance had spent at least five days in line! This was somewhere near the Mexico-US border.

Wow, I wonder if it was the Best Buy I go to. We are right on the border! Part of what makes the shopping here so difficult is that we also have to deal with tons of shoppers that come over from Mexico and take everything good!

I did a little shopping online for Black Friday this year. I got my dad "X-Men: First Class", and I got my UD Secret Santa gift. I might also get a camcorder that's about to be a Lightning Deal on Amazon, but I'm not sure.

I started my shopping at midnight at kohls. waited about 30 minutes in line before it opened and was about to run and grab what i wanted before a line stated for check out.
Got some $10 and $4 blus at toys r us after.. that had the longest line wait of about 20 minutes.
Then Target for some sales.. no line there..
Then went to the mall to wait for the disney store to open at 3:30.. but it was opened earlier than that.. grabbed everything i wanted and was home by 3 :D

My Black Friday was uneventful. Found a few things, saved a little (I guess), but otherwise didn't effect my "normal" store perusing. Did pick up a Newsies dvd... I enjoyed the Black Friday commercials more than anything.

Don't tell me you didn't see this coming:

This one had my whole family in stitches:

Hey guys! So black Friday was... Black.. and Cold! Thank goodness I brought my scarf in addition to my jacket.

The lines were out of this world! I guess since the stores were open early more people showed up. Last year when Toys R Us opened at 4 my brother and I just walked in and the same with Target.. not this year!

I eventually went to Walmart around 3 or 4 and got a DVD and the robot from the current power rangers series(I'm collecting them now)

Oh and get this, there was some crazy lady who pepper sprayed people at Walmart because she thought she had been robbed! It wasn't the one I went to but I had tried that one earlier.. If only I stayed huh? Lol
