Correct, and Thor 2 (as well as Captain America 2) have already been confirmed by Marvel.

Have seen Thor in theaters twice now, and I love it! It's really awesome, and I'm happy that it is getting so great reviews. Kenneth Branagh has made a very entertaining, funny and moving film, with amazing sets and effects. The cast is terrific, especially Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and the action is great! And Asgard looks stunning^^

I dunno about a Thor cartoon, since Marvel already has the Avengers cartoon and the movie to promote. But there was a recent Iron Man cartoon before A:EMH came out which was nothing like that, so who knows.

Also, going to a midnight showing tonight. Gonna be good.

I've seen the trailer during one of the commercials. It is distributed by Paramount, but they're not done yet! The next one is "Captain America" which will be coming out later this year, and it is going to be the last Marvel film to be distributed by Paramount. Marvel did many of these films that are distributed by several film companies including the first three "Spider-Man" films are from Columbia, the "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four" films are from 20th Century-Fox, "Hulk" films are from Universal, "The Punisher" are from Lionsgate, and of course the first two "Iron Man" films, "Thor" and the upcoming "Captain America" film are distributed by Paramount.

The relationship for Marvel and a couple of major studio distributors are now done. According to Bob Igor at the Shareholders Meeting that next year, Walt Disney Pictures will be the distributor of Marvel films, and the new movie which is going to be in the works for next year is "The Avengers". This will be the first Marvel film to be distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. They have Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, the Incredible Hulk and many others to be in their film together.

This is the same thing that Disney & Paramount did tie the knot. Remember "Popeye", the live action film with Robin Williams and Shelly Duvall? It was an excellent film from 1980, and it was the only film that it was made by both Disney and distributed by Paramount. That was 31 years ago, but now, 31 years later, they did the same thing.

Ok, I just saw this, it's REALLY good. I'm really excited to see how they handle "Avengers" now that I've seen this one, and what they have in store for "Cap. America." You can Make Mine Marvel any day! So long as Disney lets the Marvel people do their thing and keep making films like this one, I'm ok with them owning Marvel. Still not ok with the idea of the Disney logo on any of it though. It would be awesome if Marvel Studios got to be the only logo from now on, who knows?

Anyway, GO SEE THOR! It's Awesome, at least as good if not better then "Iron Man!" :D

^ No, it was def 1980, It was seeing the word "excellent" and that movie in the same sentence that made me confused. It's one of the worst films I've ever seen.

Couple of thoughts.

1)Be sure to stay after the end credits as there is a teaser....as usual...and a possible Avengers villain/controversy buildup.

2)During the credits you can see that the THOR soundtrack is released by Buena Vista Records. Even though the film itself is distributed by Paramount, does that mean that the merchandise is done through Disney? What about the Bluray/DVD? If Disney has the media rights for distribution........hhhhmmmmm....................

I thought the bonus scene at the end of the credits may have been the longest one for these films so far?

Good question, will the "Thor" DVD/ Blu Ray be Paramount or Disney?

I think, after seeing "Thor," it would be really dumb for Natalie Portman not to be in "Avengers." I'd say ditto to Gweneth Paltrow as well from "Iron Man." And yet, unless it's some great secret, no news on either being there.
