Over the last six years, these awards have become something of a tradition here. We've had a lot of fun with them and this year sees a couple minor changes. The nomination process was moved from the summer to the fall, thus turning "of the year" into "of the year and a few months." It does give forum members a bit more content to consider when making nominations, but hopefully is for the better! And if you haven't noticed, this will be the first UD Forum Awards to be hosted not by Aaron "AwallaceUNC" Wallace, but by Albert "Escapay" Gutierrez! This year, he has passed hosting duties on to me, and I sincerely hope I can be as great a host as he has been since the Forum Awards began in 2004. The Annual UD Forum Awards are a chance for all the posters here to recognize each other's contributions to the always-fun, always-informative community that is the Ultimate Disney / DVDizzy Forum.
The rules are simple and are the same as last year's. You may submit up to FIVE nominations in each of the categories that appear below. Nominations must be emailed to udforumawards@gmail.com to be valid - no PMs accepted. Please make "7th Annual UD Forum Nominations" your subject line. You may not nominate yourself for anything, nor can you nominate a thread/review/idea that you authored. Of course, past winners may be nominated and win again. For those of you concerned, I won't be scrutinizing your nominations and your submissions will be kept completely secret.
Remember, the intention here is not to pit anyone against anyone else or hurt anyone's feelings. There are a LOT of people participating and only a few can be nominated and even fewer can win. You never know how many votes may have come in for you! Play nice and remember that it's all in good fun. So please, no hurt feelings.
Important: "Of The Year" is defined as 6/1/09 - 9/30/10. Only reviews/threads/topics/etc. posted in that time frame are eligible. I'm aware that such high-profile threads/reviews came before and after the eligibility period, but I cannot make any exceptions, I'm sorry.
Everyone is encouraged to put a lot of thought into this and consider more than just the last month or two.
Please do not post anything about who/what you are nominating in this thread. We want to keep things mysterious.
After they have been sent and tabulated, the official nominations will be posted in Off-Topic for you to vote on. The number of final nominees selected for each category will vary, depending on the numbers received, though the goal is always 3-5 for each (not always possible).
This year, the ceremony will take place all within one night or week, rather than spread out over several weeks as has been done in the past. That should again help to alleviate some of the silliness that has marred the ceremony in the past.
And now with all that out of the way, let's get started...
