The Official Earl of Sandwich Appreciation Thread

Post by Escapay »

Can't believe this hasn't been done before.

If you've eaten at Earl of Sandwich, and enjoyed your sandwich, at Downtown Disney in the Walt Disney World Resort, post about it here.

If you didn't enjoy your sandwich, stay out of this appreciation thread. :P

In 2005, I was a regular diner at Earl of Sandwich, often getting the Caribbean Jerk Chicken and a tomato soup. Occasionally, I'd sample some of their other sandwiches. And one time, an EoS guy gave me a free experimental cheesesteak sandwich. I didn't like it much, as nothing beats a real Philly cheesesteak from Pat's...or Geno's...depending on who you're loyal to.

But anyway, Earl and I have had a quite close relationship for a long time. I've never had a bad sandwich from them and the only thing I dislike is their (understandably) rising prices. It used to be $4.95 for a sandwich, and now I think they're $6-something. :(

BTW, Newark Airport is getting an Earl of Sandwich in one of their terminals next year. From now on when I fly, I'll take a 2+ hour drive to Newark rather than a 30-minute drive to Philly, simply so I can get an Earl of Sandwich. :D

The last time I went to WDW (2 years ago), me and my family were all starving by the time we actually got there! So, when we went to the Downtown Disney area (I don't remember why, something about the information desk), we ate at the nearby Earl just because it was the closest thing. I thought it was very delicious. I can't remember what I got, but I remember it tasted very good.
