Update:

I've seen all of these at the Aronoff Center in Cincinnati except for Mamma Mia! which I saw at the Columbus Theater

Big River
The Lion King
Wicked
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Jersey Boys
Hairspray
Grease
Mamma Mia!

And I just got tickets to go see Spring Awakening which I'm really excited for. The only thing that I'm not too excited about is that I have to see it with my mother and anyone who knows what the show is about would agree with me that it'll be pretty awkward. But, whatever, I'm still seeing it and I can't wait! I'm seeing it the 17th of January at the Aronoff Center. I would have really have liked to have seen Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff as Wendla and Melchior, but that won't happen. Still, it would have been amazing to see them singing in this wonderful musical. Can't wait!

I've seen-

Of Mice and Men at the Barter Theatre- I saw this on a schooltrip last year. I thought it was wonderful and the acting was great, but the funny thing is my teachers never bothered to tell us the plot or make us read the book, so the story, including the tragic ending, was new to most everyone. But I Wikipedia'd it! Sometime I'll have to read the book.

Scrooge at the Bristol Paramount Theatre- Scrooge and especially the woman playing both Fezziwigg's wife and the Ghost of Christmas Present were superb. Otherwise, it was okay.

I may be seeing The Little Shop of Horrors in Washington, D.C. this spring at Ford's Theatre. That would be a treat!

Oh, and all the other plays I've seen-
Aladdin- kindergarten
Aladdin, Junior- kindergarten
Charlotte's Web- kindergarten
The Three Little Pigs- kindergarten
The Nutcracker- kindergarten (technically a ballet)
The Wizard of Oz- elementary school
Beauty and the Beast- elementary school
Cinderella- elementary school
The Jungle Book- elementary school

Obviously I've been raised with a great knowledge of the arts. :P

I just came back from seeing Spring Awakening, and I must say, it was wonderfully fantastic!!!! It was much better than I could have ever dreamed. Sure, some of the lines in some of the songs weren't correct, but who cares?! That's only a minor upsetment. The leads were amazing and I met all of them and it was magnificent!!!!! I really don't even know what to say, it was that good. This ranks up there with Wicked as my favorite play I've seen. Too bad that it closed on Broadway, though. I was kind of hoping to see it in New York. But this was just as good. Sure, some parts were awkward sitting next to my mother, but hey, all's good. I LOVED IT!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :pink: :pink: :pink: :pink: :pink: :D :D :D :D :D :D

A couple years ago, I saw We Will Rock You in Toronto. Not a broadway production, but an amazing show! All of Queen's greatest hits in one 3 hr (decent) story. And really good special effects, too! Nice! :D

I've never seen a broadway production (it's just too far away) but I saw

*) about fifteen times Tanz der Vampire (Dance of the Vampires) in Vienna's Ronacher Theatre (luckily tickets for people who stand rather than sit cost only 5€) and once in Hamburg's Neue Flora
*) twice Wicked in Stuttgart's Palladium
*) Sweeney Todd in Klagenfurt's Stadttheater
*) Romeo und Julia (Romeo and Juliet) in Vienna's Raimund Theatre
*) Rudolph - Affaire Mayerling in Vienna's Raimund
*) Elisabeth in Vienna's Theater an der Wien
*) Frühlingserwachen (Spring Awakening) in Vienna's Ronacher
*) Aida in the Pölzhalle in Amstetten

All in German, all pretty good, although my favourites are Tanz der Vampire and Wicked. I think it's a shame that Dance of the Vampires was a flop on broadway (although I kinda understand it, I saw a few scenes on youtube and didn't like the changes they made at all - except "Stronger than we are" which is one of my favourite songs and I'm glad they added it to the German version).

What I find funny is that you - very often - see the same actors. Aida's Radames was also one of the two Fiyero's (Mathias Edenborn), one Glinda I saw in Stuttgart was also Tanz der Vampire's Sarah in Hamburg (Kathrin Löbbert) and the current Sarah in Vienna was also Juliet... It's a small world. :D

Well, I haven't seen anything new, but I have ranked them according to my likings:

1. Spring Awakening
2. Wicked
3. Hairspray and Mamma Mia!
4. Jersey Boys and The Lion King
5. Grease
6. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
7. Big River

This was a tad difficult, though. Spring Awakening and Wicked are definitely my top two choices. Then, it got a little tricky. I knew that Big River was definitely last and that Sweeney was second to last, but the middle was difficult. 3 through 5 were all spectacular but some lacked in my expectations. I thought Grease was going to be amazing, and it was pretty good, but, I don't know. Some of it just wasn't there. Hairspray and Mamma Mia! were both fantastic, so I knew that they would have to be up there. I don't really remember The Lion King, but I remember that it was quite good and Jersey Boys was fun, but I didn't know all of the music (even though I am somewhat of a Four Seasons fan). So they took the middle-ish spot. I would love to see all of these again, but I know that half aren't on Broadway or touring, so that's kind of impossible.

But anywho, I think I'm going to see Mary Poppins in April in Cincy (it'll be my 10th play I've seen). I do want to see Cats as that'll be here on my birthday (February 5, holla! 18th year of living), but my mom hated it, so I don't think that'll happen. I really want to see the actress, whoever she is, sing Memory, but that won't happen.

I saw Young Frankenstein on Tuesday and I thought it was pretty good. There were quite a few funny moments and a lot of the songs were tolerable. We even got some of the original cast from the original Broadway run such as Roger Bart (as Dr. Frederick Frankenstein) and Cory English (as Igor).

Though it was not as good as the original movie, it was still enjoyable.

I haven't seen that many compared to some of you, but they have all been amazing. I've seen shows both here n San Diego and up in L.A.

Shows I've seen:
Kiss Me Kate (tour)
West Side Side Story (This was Christian Community Production)
Phantom of the Opera (tour)
Wicked (last years's tour)
Mary Poppins (up in L.A. this past Nov.)

I just saw that Beauty and the Beast in coming to San Diego this fall, and I have to go. But it's only here for a week. I hope I'm able to get tickets.
I also hope The Little Mermaid comes either here or L.A when it does its national tour.

So, I'm going to New York for my graduation present and I'm allowed to see two Broadway plays. I've decided on The Phantom of the Opera for the first one, but I can't decide on the other play. I think I've decided on four options, but I'm open to any ideas. I've tried to narrow it down to just these:

Chicago
Mary Poppins
Next To Normal
Promises, Promises

I've always wanted to see Chicago, plus I really like the film version. My little sister saw Mary Poppins two years ago when she went to NYC with the drama kids at school and she really liked it. One of my friends says that she really likes Next To Normal even though she's never seen it plus I think that it's just an interesting concept. Lastly, I would really like to meet Kristin Chenoweth after Promises, Promises plus I know a little bit of the music that I've heard (mostly just I Say A Little Prayer and A House Is Not A Home; thanks Glee!). I really have no clue as to which one to see. If anyone can help that would be awesome!

Broadway (in order of seeing them):
The Lion King (x2) (in 2006 and 2009)
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (2006)
RENT (2006)
Avenue Q (2009)
Wicked (2009)
Mary Poppins (2009)

Off-Broadway:
Blue Man Group (2009)

Touring:
Mamma Mia! (x2) (in 2003 and 2007)
Annie (2004)
Disney's Beauty and the Beast (2004)
Cats (2005)
Hairspray (2005)
The Producers (2005)
Cathy Rigby's Peter Pan (2005)
Disney's On the Record (2005)
Wicked (x2) (in 2005 and 2007)
RENT (x2) (in 2007 and 2009)
Avenue Q (2008)
Dreamgirls (2010)

My favorite theatrical experience so far was definitely the 2009 Tour of RENT. It's my favorite show, and I won the lotto, so I got to sit third row center for the show. I made eye contact with 4 cast members. It was awesome! Haha.

Soon (hopefully):
Spring Awakening

The Lion King

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Jersey Boys
Hairspray
Grease
Mamma Mia!
Spring Awakening
Promises, Promises
The Phantom of the Opera
Chicago

So, obviously, I decided to see The Phantom of the Opera, Chicago and Promises, Promises. All of them were completely wonderful, but Phantom was my clear favorite. I waited 45 minutes after the show to acquire Kristin's autograph and I got it! I was, and still am, very happy about that. I might post some pictures on here if I get the chance (probably tomorrow). I've planned to go back to New York in 2012 to see the revival of Evita and see some other plays that I didn't get to see (of course, that depends if they're still there in 2 years). Plus, my mom and I would probably go and she hasn't actually said that she would take me, but I'm hoping to go.

These are Off-Broadway Musicals I've seen (do plays counts, cause if they don't, I am making them count):
* The Nutcracker (Academy of Music)
* Roger's and Hammerstien's Cinderella (Bishop McDevitt HS)
* Honk! (Bishop McDevitt HS)
* Scrooge (Bishop McDevitt HS)
* The Wizard of Oz (Bishop McDevitt HS)
* Sleeping Beauty (Keswick Theatre)
* Beauty and the Beast (Keswick Theatre)
* Jack and the Beanstalk (Kewick Theatre)
* High School Musical (Saint James School, 2007)
* Guys & Dolls (Saint James School, 2008)
* Godspell (Once in 2006, and I actually starred in the 2009 version, I had the second part of the song "All Good Gifts." and the lines I had were "Master! Master! Blest be the poor in spirit," and "Oh, now I get it!")
* Tribute to Saint James School (2010, I was going to sing "Candle on the Water" for it, but thank you, time constriants and "fairness", I was given "Das Boot." :x I did have a chance to sing, though, in the choir I have been in for 5 years. And, like a Disney Movie, the Tribute show ended with a Kiss!)
* The Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular (Once in 2005, and then again in 2007)

Big River - Cincinnati's Aronoff Center
The Lion King - Cincinnati's Aronoff Center
Wicked - Cincinnati's Aronoff Center
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street - Cincinnati's Aronoff Center
Jersey Boys - Cincinnati's Aronoff Center
Hairspray - Cincinnati's Aronoff Center
Grease - Cincinnati's Aronoff Center
Mamma Mia! - Columbus' Palace Theater
Spring Awakening - Cincinnati's Aronoff Center
Promises, Promises - New York City's Broadwy Theatre
The Phantom of the Opera - New York City's Majestic Theatre
Chicago - New York City's Ambassador Theatre

So, nothing new here except for the places where I saw each performance. There really isn't anything too exciting happening in Cincinnati's Broadway season. I may go to The Fiddler on the Roof, but I haven't spoken to my mom about it. We also haven't decided whether or not we're going to NYC in 2012. I hope we can go, though. I love that city.

Hmm hard choice. Next to Normal does have a really interesting concept, so I guess its more up to whether you want more dramatic or lighter fare. I can tell you however, that the Broadway version of Chicago is VERY different from the film version. Not bad, just different. You can't beat the music from Chicago, its classic. Promises Promises sounds like fun, its supposed to be a great revival, and plus, I LOVE Kristen Chenoweth, so that would automatically be my vote,

Edit: I just saw how old that post was, and read your update. Glad you went to those three! Yes, Phantom is amazing. Enough Said,

Next season's productions that are coming to Cincinnati were revealed today and they include:

Beauty and the Beast
Wicked
Billy Elliot
West Side Story
The Addams Family
Mamma Mia!
Les Miserables

I've already spoken with my mom and both of us want to see Beauty and the Beast and Wicked (again). She would like to see Mamma Mia! (again) and I would like to see Les Miserables for our third choice. However, both of those are in May which will be around finals time next school year. It's a tough call, but I'm sure we'll decide--it's not like we don't have a few months to.
