I am going to adress several issues... book, movie, ect

- I did not find Sirius' death at all sad...

- Yes the tone was not a happy one, but this is no longer for children, as Harry matures, so do the books, the series has become a teen series and will have that mood to it.
Also didn't any of you hear Sam's speach at the end of Two Towers about how any story worth telling, has those dark periods that you just don't want to live/read through, but you have to because in the end everything will work out. Well I believe we kinda just read through 1 of those times.

- I personally always thought Richard Harris looked like he was about to drop dead, we was so old and feeble looking (Not trying to be disrespectful or anything) Personally, I think Patrick Stewart would make the best Dumbledore, but that's just me.

- I think it sucks that they are dragging out the releases of the movies, especially since it was first announced they would be only a year apart, but then so were the books...

- I fear with the movie coming out next June, we will not see HP 6 until 2005                      . UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH oh WELLLLLLLLL...

stop by my HP chat to discuss the book. DO NOT come unless you have read the book cover to cover, and know what we are talking about!

Well, whatever your opinion might be, fine... But wouldn't you think it be better if Harris was in all seven rather than in the first two, and have some other man play the other 5?

It really doesn't matter to me, the same actors won't be playing the kids through all seven. The only one who might stay the same is Hermione, and she really is good as the character. All the rest are aging too quickley and they are not making the movies fast enough.

Ireally like the actor playing Hagrid too, but unfortunatley big people like that aren't know for their very good hearts :( ...

Well, that is the one BIG problem filming a series that is time based, and isn't finished yet! ;). But yeah, the movie series will definately go downhill once more characters start switching. it really will! :(

I am disappointed that they cannot make all seven with these kids unless they did one a year, but hey, they're teenagers with lives, and I can definitely respect that. I also don't think they should split the movies. If it's long it's long. The fans won't like it any less I'm sure. It might even make it more of an event and gross more (kinda the way people are impressed with the lengths of the novels). Bring back the good old family friendly intermission if necessary. :goofy:

Now, about the book. I finished last night a little before 1 AM, determined to fullfil my mission. For some reason I did not feel much remorse for the death of Sirius, who I previously labeled as my favorite character. I suppose it was because I was so worried that it would be Hermione (my new favorite) or Ron. In "Prisoner" and "Goblet" he seemed heroic and sneeky, but he seemed to be less interesting, like Harry and his radical mood swings. However, I do not think that Rowling is losing her touch. She did a fantastic job and this volume was necessary for the rest of the saga. I didn't like the deal about the prophecy mush, though I don't really have a good reason for that nag :| . IMO, the previous two were much more interesring and adventerous, but I guess that it's like a soap opera, you can't lose faith just because some things happened that you would have made happen differently (not that I uh...watch soap operas or uh...anything... .............. ).

Anyways, the book was not a let down, though not better than her previous work. I think it would make the most interesting movie in terms of location, what with Grimmald Place, St. Mungos, The Room of Requirement, The Hog's Head, and especially the Ministry of Magic, etc., etc. I say she should keep up the good work, and think carefully about the story as a whole. I can't wait for #6.

It's ok Sully, I can admit I watch Soap Orahs, just like I can admit to people that I like and still watch disney. I personally like The Bold and the Beautiful, because it is the stereo typical soap, and has great stories (Brooke getting pegnant with her daughter's husband's baby...ect) I also like As the World Turns. I even started to write my own Soap last year, I think it's pretty good, but patchy in some areas, I need a (ghost writter?) to help me with some parts, so if any of you writers on the board want to help just let me know  ...

Any way back to Harry Potter (Oh and Sulley, you could have posted your review in the HP Discussion, but that's ok :) )

I think the movies should be broken in two, because even though I have no problem with intermissions and could make a day out of seeing a lolng long HP movie many don't share my (our) thoughts about that...

Besides the two existing ones are already like 3- 3 1/2 hrs. any longer would kill the poor kids, even if they are in to it...

I really have like this connection with harry, and being an aspiring actor wish I could have played the part, I admit some times Harry is dumb and it's like come on man, but for the most part I feel what he feels, and at the parts when he wwas oput of control so was I, and know for a fact I woiuld have been the same way  , except at the end... I think he really took it a little far, but ...oh well. What are you going to do, it's hard being a teenage boy, especially when you are angry, and sometimes you don't even know why :? .

I think that making the film's into two parts would be a bad move unless they were released both at the same time... Even though you'd have to pay for two tickets, so it'd be a bigger profit for Warner....

I dunno. I Wouldn't mind 3 hour harry potter movies from now on...

Ok, I'll admit that I watch As The World Turns on CBS. But mostly Guiding Light, the most watched Daytime program and the longest running of any program in history (66 years including radio :o ). I guess I wouldn't like a 7-hour movie, but I just hate the idea of splitting stories.

I mean a long movie like that might be fun, because you could make a day of it, but I just don't see it happening.

Personally, I think GOF has the perfect splitter. I see the first movie ending with the goblet spitting out the gasp 4th name and Dumbledore reading "Harry Potter..." 8)

Oh and I think that is so cool about GL, but it is not a show that I watch... :)

I think that the best point to end the first half of GOF if it does get made into a movie would be after harry gets past the first task. It would leave you on a high but wondering whats to come.
