For some reason, I keep seeing this post and I think it's talking about some Motown musical group!

Ladies and Gentlemen! The Apollo Theater is proud to present...:
PERCY JACKSON
and
THE OLYMPIANS!

Put your hands together, folks!"

Now I keep imagining golden boy coming out in this bright sparkly gold outfit and sporting shades. :p

Dragonlion wrote:I just saw the movie yesterday (btw, I didn't read the book). I thought it was alright, but some things confused me, like Why is Medusa still alive? Wasn't she killed by Perseus? Also, why are the lotus-eaters in Las Vegas? Why is Mt. Olympus in the Empire State building? they never explained these things. But like I said it was alright. Not sure if I want to read the books.
You should definitely read the books, from what I've heard from my friends, the movie doesn't even compare.

In plain words - THIS MOVIE SUCKS!!!!

I have read the books, and the actors in this movie are all wrong. There are so many plot holes, and what is with the overpowering soundtrack. I definitely will not be looking at any of the other Percy Jackson films.

Give me the REAL Harry Potter anyday!!!!

I haven't seen the movie either, but I really have no interest to at this point; the commericals have only shown me that I shouldn't. None of the actors seem right for the movie, and it keeps trying to create a HP vibe to manipulate people into seeing it ("from the director of HP and the SS!!!").

Uma Thurman as Medusa is the only thing that's interested me, and that's really not enough worth paying for.

What is with this new obsession with an icy, asymmetrical trident?

This is a bad movie. I mean I have seen a lot of bad movies but this is pretty up there. I consider myself a movie critic sometimes because I write reviews. My review for this movie isn't that good. This isn't faithful to the book. It has horrible character development and even worse acting. The story is all over the place. I do not recommend it especially if you have read the books because you won't be satisfied.

Percy Jackson BD (To Be Released: June 29th) Question

Post by The_Iceflash »

Would anyone happen to know if there are any coupons available for it?

Also, are any of you interested in it? (I read the discussion thread with people disliking it for not being 100% faithful to the book, etc. but still.)

Right now it looks like the best price for this (not online) is $25.99 at Target. Does anyone know of any cheaper?

You can't honestly say you LIKED this movie, can you?

Why not rent it first, and make sure that it is worth the $25 plus investment. I thought this movie was terrible and not worthy of being added to my DVD collection, be it standard or Blu-ray.

There are a lot of better things out there to spend your money on, however, if you really liked this film, then why not wait for it to come to your local Used DVD store, and save some money. Stores like CDTradepost.com will have this film for $13.99 within three days of its release. Check them out, and add it to your wish list, and they will take care of you. All of their discs, Standard or Blu-ray are guaranteed for life. And they are just as good as new, just a little cheaper.
